The Obamas did not have their dog, Bo, flown on his own private jet for the family vacation to Maine. Instead, the family and staff took two small jets because the dog was not a pet. Bo, a Portuguese water dog that Senator Ted Kennedy gave to the Obama family as a present, flies in his own private jet. Bo was a pet dog of the Obama family, the first family of the United States from 2009 until 2017.

Bo was a gift from former Sen. Ted Kennedy and his wife to the Obama girls, and the breed is considered hypoallergenic and good for people like Malia, who had a dog. Bo, who was 12, died on Saturday. When President Barack Obama went on holiday to the seaside, things can get complicated.
