How to claim TD credit card travel insurance?
To file a travel insurance claim, call the administrator at 1-800-359-6704 toll-free from Canada or the U. S., or collect at 416-977-5040. A claim form will be sent within 2-5 business days. What are the disadvantages of Aeroplan?
Aeroplan members pay a $30 fee ($39 Canadian dollars) to book flights with Air Canada’s partner airlines, which can be covered with points. Award flights can be canceled at no charge within 24 hours of booking, but if you change your mind beyond that, a fee of up to $135 ($175 CAD) may be charged. Points can be refunded up to two hours before the flight, but the fee could be as high as $135.
What benefits do I get with my Aeroplan card?
The Aeroplan Visa program offers various benefits to its members, including preferred pricing, free first checked bag, authorized user, Maple Leaf Lounge Passes, Maple Leaf Lounge Access, Priority Check-in, and Priority Airport Standby. To access airline benefits, users must provide their personal Aeroplan number to be linked to their credit card, as linking a different loyalty number is prohibited. The name on the airline reservation must be identical to the name on the Aeroplan account of the traveler.
For authorized users, their personal Aeroplan number must be linked to a valid credit card account as verified by the bank. Linking can be done by visiting aircanada. com/linkmycard. It takes up to 72 hours after the CIBC Aeroplan credit card is approved or the Aeroplan number of the authorized user is linked to the authorized user credit card for these benefits to be activated.
Airline benefits will no longer be available upon account closure, regardless of reason for closure or if your CIBC Aeroplan credit card product is changed to another product. Aeroplan membership and benefits are subject to the Aeroplan Program Terms and Conditions and any applicable Air Canada terms and conditions relating to a benefit, as determined by Air Canada in its sole discretion and as may be changed from time to time.
For the Aeroplan Visa, Aeroplan points will be earned on card purchases less returns, and not on cash advances, interest, fees, balance transfers, payments, or Convenience Cheques. A bonus rate of 1 Aeroplan points is awarded on each $1. 00 in purchases (net of and/or less returns) at merchants classified in the Visa network as grocery stores, service stations/automated gas dispensers, or $1. 00 in purchases made directly from Air Canada, for products and services completed online at aircanada. com, in-person at an Air Canada customer service counter at the airport, or aboard an Air Canada flight and Air Canada Vacations packages.
The bonus Aeroplan points offer is only available on the first $40, 000 in net annual card purchases on the account, meaning all card purchases by all cardholders, at any type of merchant. After that, Aeroplan points are earned at the regular rate on net card purchases. The $80, 000 limit will reset to zero on the day after your December statement is printed.

📹 The BEST TD Travel Credit Card – TD Aeroplan Infinite Visa(I WAS WRONG)
Let’s talk about the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Credit Card. In my opinion, the best TD travel credit card for canadians!
Yes, when you did that last article I disagreed with you and I have had the infinite card for years. The free 1st baggage, if you do 2-4 trips a year, with what they charge for baggage fees, MORE than pays for the yearly credit card fee. Recently, re: aeroplan points, I have noticed few places on the aeroplan program, like Esso gas and Homehardware store. These were two of my go to places so now it takes longer to collect enough points. The 7,500 spent to get all those extra points is also a wonderful feature. Thank you for being upfront and honest. Glad the community checked in with you and reached out to give you the right info. Cheers from Eastern Canada.
I spoke to 2 td agents yesterday about the aeroplan card – and they said you get points with any airline flights you book – you just get more with air canada and there list of many other airlines. Regardless you get areoplan points with any flights booked. You get areoplan points with groceries and gas plus the list of business and merchants they have on there programs. The first checked bags is amazing as well. Thank goodness yesterday when I was perusal your other article I did my own research and went with the areoplan
LOL i choked myself when i saw my name appearing in ur article LOL Earning aeroplan points is def more worth it. Im not saying TD Aeroplan VI is the best card in the “Airline points” earning category in Canada, but its def competitive and versatile for most people, especially not having a crazy high annual fee, which to many beginners can be a huge hurdle. But Good job in switching. I make youtube articles also in my main website, not gonna plug it in here lol, but one day maybe ill explain more about points/miles and how to maximize your points/miles value
The problem I have with the infinite travel card is I finally went to book a trip in TD for expedia, and wanted to go to puerto plata in September, trip on Air transat or on selloff vacations was around $899 each, but on TD expedia it was $1299 and it wasnt direct flights… so I feel like its a ripoff.
Great Follow up article!! and Thanks for making this one. How about comparing the Amex Cobalt vs TD Aeroplan Infinite visa. As AMEX cobalt does give 5x on Food, groceries and drinks, which is better than TD one. I am just thinking, if the option of annual fees to be waived (All inclusive account) for TD card would make a difference, for not opting the Amex ?
This TD add was brought to you by…….. If you actually travel allot and crunch the numbers you will find AMEX Business Platinum ALWAYS comes on top. Even when you redeme your points. Have you seen a TD Lounge? No. An AMEX lounge is like a home. This is an add push for sure sorry. I travel allot and I tried to swit h from AMEX, and no one even came close in perks.
never liked any point system or portal/reward/coupon book system for credit cards as you said before in one of your articles its hard to compare the dollar value had the cash back infinite card but excited for the new AMEX PERFERED cash back card update ccming soon which is 4% gas and groceries and 2% everything else, best in the game right now imo
