Is There Any Antarctic Excursion Planned For The Coral Princess?

Princess Cruises is offering 11 expedition cruises to Antarctica from November 2024 to January 2026, departing from November 2024. The Coral Princess, one of only two Princess cruise ships designed to sail through the Panama Canal, offers scenic cruising along glacial waters, stunning views of the Falkland Islands, Elephant Island, Antarctic Sound, and Gerlache Strait, and the opportunity to witness the alluring songs of sea birds and the ocean.

The Coral Princess and her sister ship, the Island Princess, were built to transit the old locks of the Panama Canal, making the ship narrow and long. The cruise itinerary includes 4-5 days of scenic cruising in Antarctica, including visiting Villa Las Estrellas, a Chilean Antarctic settlement, and visiting the research center, one of the continent’s oldest and most important meteorological stations.

The Coral Princess does not provide shore access in Antarctica due to the limited number of passengers allowed on the ship. However, Princess offers excursions to see various penguin colonies and offers many penguin tour options that can be booked independently.

The Coral Princess’ route to Antarctica occurred only three times during the 2019-2020 season. The only way to set foot on Antarctica with Princess is by a shore excursion from Punarenas, Chile. Princess Cruises also offers shore excursions to Tierra del Fuego, Rio de Janeiro, the Falkland Islands, and Antarctica during their South America cruise.

Individuals can make friends with the famous penguins of the Falkland Islands and explore the cities of Tierra del Fuego, Rio de Janeiro, the Falkland Islands, and Antarctica during their South America cruise.
