Is Scott Lindgren Kayaker Still Alive?

Scott Lindgren, a 49-year-old California athlete and one of the world’s greatest whitewater kayakers, was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma in February 2015. The tumor wrapped around his right carotid artery and pressed on his brain. Lindgren began his career with his Emmy award-winning film Amazon to Andes and has since made numerous kayaking films, including Good to the Last Drop, Aerated, and Burning. The River Runner, directed by Rush Sturges, is an intimate look at Lindgren’s 20-year quest to be the first person to paddle the four great rivers that originate from Tibet’s sacred Mount.

Scott Lindgren has made headlines for his worldwide kayaking expeditions, including raging Himalayan rivers and navigating the Nile. He has been honored with an Endurance Tile in Downtown Auburn. Since the release of the film, Lindgren continues to kayak and travel as much as possible, and he and his girlfriend have been tending to the Consumnes River Ranch, a campground.

In addition to his kayaking adventures, Lindgren has also been honored with an Endurance Tile in Downtown Auburn. He has been able to return to kayaking after a hiatus due to his cancer treatment. As of October 07, 2021, Scott Lindgren is alive and married to his wife, Rachel Weiner.
