Travel and security experts have warned that there is no need to cancel trips to Europe due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has stated that airspace within 100 nautical miles of Russia’s borders with Ukraine could pose safety risks, including intentional targeting and misidentification of civil aircraft. Lithuania declared a state of emergency on 24 February in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and there are growing calls from Ukrainian leaders and those in the bloc’s east for an outright ban on Russian tourists. Several member states have imposed additional travel restrictions to address travelers’ key concerns.
A survey of 350 adult US travelers with upcoming plans to visit Europe found that 62 said the invasion is a factor for planning their trips, compared with 31. The situation in Ukraine is fast-moving, and it is unclear how long airspace over Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, or Russia will be impacted. As travelers plan summer vacations in Europe, many are wondering if the Ukraine-Russia War will have an effect on their trips.
At the moment, travel to most of Europe seems completely safe. The only scenario where the Russia crisis presents any risk to your travels is if things escalate into a NATO v Russia conflict involving nuclear weapons. In which case, you are probably safer in Italy than in the US, since Italy is most unlikely to be a primary target for Russian missiles. Covid insurance is important for sure, and visiting Italy is not going to be unsafe unless World War 3 starts.
However, several government travel advisories have placed Ukraine under a “Do Not Travel” warning. The chances that Russian authorities will move towards attacking another country are extremely low. The EU has imposed restrictions on Russians traveling to Europe following the invasion of Ukraine, with some countries, notably Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, imposing restrictions on Russians. U.S. citizens may face harassment or detention due to the consequences of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces.

📹 Joy Behar Is Devastated that Putin’s Invasion Of Ukraine May Ruined Her Vacation To Italy
I can’t believe Joy said this. As Ukrainians Fear For Their Lives, Joy Behar’s ‘Scared’ Because Her Italian Vacation Might Be …
Think Joy think. This was not a time for this comment. So selfish to say right now. We live in a bubble compared to the horrors that some humans are facing. These are real people just like you and me. I thought the other night as I was preparing for bed that people would be so glad to sleep side be side on my floor just to feel the safety that we have on a daily basis. We must keep free speech but sometimes people say the most stupid comments before they think. Joy did.
Are we trying to cancel Joy Behar? She’s smart, funny and not someone I would label inhumane. She’s older and can’t put things off like a younger person might and as someone else commented she has been sounding alarm bells about Putin, Trump and authoritarian leaders for a long time. Sorry I don’t agree with you this time.
Ahhhh, what are my thoughts??? Yes, I think “selfish and inhumane” sums it up pretty accurately. I always find it interesting to take note of the initial reaction an individual has to the reporting of an event. Usually is a glimpse into the authentic inner life/reality. Not saying it shows the entire picture….just saying it’s a good start.
Love you but I don’t entirely agree this time although I can see your point of view. She is getting on in years and this war is totally unnecessary. Ukraine is a happy, hard-working, peaceful country who was minding it’s own business. It’s full of incredible people like those that were defending the island and told Russia to F off before they were killed. Or old Ukrainian men signing up to fight. Untrained civilians taking up weapons. Or Zelenskyy who is willing to fight himself and stayed even though he is target number one and his wife and kids are target number 2. Putin attacked a country that has done nothing to him or anyone else and for no real reason. Wars are archaic and this one should not be happening at all. Especially on the heels of a worldwide pandemic. I understand people being tired of scary global events. Half the USA put their heads in the sand because their brains couldn’t rationalize a deadly virus. I give Joy the benefit of the doubt. This is tiring. I wish this wasn’t happening at all. I watch two YouTubers in the Ukraine. Pavlo from the Ukraine and Olga Reznikova and it’s heartbreaking to see them going through this. I’m hoping the States and Europe step up and show Putin some muscle. But right now I personally am not hating on a comedian who makes me laugh and who mostly gets it right.
I think she right needs to be In peace in her vacation, I have a hotel booked in Ukraine 🇺🇦 Kyiv how am I suppose to enjoy my vacation if they have war there I need to go on vacation but I don’t want to be there if they have war can they postpone the war for after my vacation who can I talk to about postponing the war
Would it have been perceived differently, if Joy Behar stated/mentioned that we all been dealing with a pandemic. With that said, I personally haven’t been able to visit family, friends, loved ones in Italy and now there is conflict between Russia and Ukraine which will effect not only the entire world, (stock markets, inflation, etc) but Europe, greatly. Something along those line. I, reckon not. Either way, it comes off as selfish. More so, with the usage of the term: vacation. Joy Behar should have kept that thought to herself. I can have compassion for missing and wishing to see/spend time with loved ones back home and the frustrations with what everyone has been dealing with not being able to do so for the past whatever years but she used the term vacation. I bring this up for the fact that someone mentioned to me last night that she is Italian and she may have fumbled with words or something – missing someone and thinking to herself should I say this or not and it comes out wrong. I wonder if she will issue an apology. She clearly didn’t think before she spoke. Off topic: Graeme, you look good in teal. You wore it the other day as well or in a recent upload – zip up with black strips – shoulders/arms. The colour suits you well.
This is something that most rational people have thought about. It doesn’t mean we are selfish, it means we are worried about our own safety too. If she had mentioned going to Italy to visit her sick relatives being an issue, then no one would of thought her incentive I’m sure. It’s just choice of words that maybe could of been said different . No one’s that selfish knowing what’s going on with these poor people. I’m sure anyone going on holiday are thinking the same, but not in an uncaring way. Also it’s true, this pandemic has altered people’s lives and livelihoods in a terrible way, with restrictions all over the world because of an invisible virus that was deadly for so many beautiful people, and has been the total focus in all our lives for so long. She said something a lot of people are thinking, we’re only human, but that doesn’t mean they are selfish nasty people. I’m sure if she worded it differently, then that would of been better.
I watched the entire show and I felt she was, unsuccessfully, trying to get a point across about how the invasion into Ukraine will affect the the economies of other countries, ie. instead of thinking we shouldn’t get involved because it won’t affect us, we should think bigger picture. I felt that is what she was starting to say but then got sidetracked. I may be wrong but that was my take.
Honestly she wasn’t thinking. I don’t believe that she doesn’t care or that she’s as selfish as her comment makes her out to be but she was just not prepared. I would have thought after the Whoopi debacle, that they would all attend daily meetings and pre-check their points/thought. yeah sure, its not at the same level as Whoopi’s comments but they should have more checks in place.
