Can a frigate destroy a submarine?

This week, crew members aboard the French frigate Normandie, one of France’s most modern warships, were roused from sleep and scrambled to hunt down and destroy a submarine that snuck into cold Norwegian waters.

The submarine belongs to Germany, also a NATO member. But for the purpose of the war games dubbed Nordic Response 2024, it was acting as an enemy vessel.

The Normandie crew spotted its periscope poking through the waves and sprang into action. The submarine had already “attacked” a nearby Italian ship, the aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi, scoring an imaginary torpedo hit.

What do you do with unwanted ships in NMS?

If you choose not to repair the Launch Thruster and the Pulse Engine, this method will transfer the ship to a Space Station and allow you to scrap it:

  • Claim the crashed ship but leave it at the crash site
  • fly away with another ship from your collection
  • from inside the perimeter of one of your bases, recall the crashed ship on the ground and make it your active ship by climbing in the cockpit
  • use a Base Teleporter to go to a Space Station, and the crashed ship will be teleported to the Space station with you. Note: ship will arrive with launch thruster and pulse engine repaired but all other damaged tech will remain damaged
  • use the Starship Outfitting Terminal to scrap the ship Note: after scrapping, if the player’s default ship was also damaged, it will not arrive repaired

How to get rid of freighter no man’s sky?

Push down on the D-Pad & bring up the menu that summons the freighter. There should be two options to ‘summon freighter’ & ‘dismiss freighter’. Select the dismiss option.

Freighter bases were supposed to automatically transfer to any new freighter you purchased w/ the Next update. That broke when HG introduced the freighter update a little while ago around the time of Expedition 8.

The workaround used to be to leave ‘1’ of something (i.e. Ferrite Dust) in General (Cargo now) & you’d be prompted to transfer items from the old freighter to the new one and then another prompt to transfer your base. I haven’t gotten a freighter on my Switch save yet. So, I haven’t been able to test this out to see how to progress.

You could try to package up all the tech in your Technology of your current freighter & moving it over to your Exosuit Cargo. Package up the Matter Beam last otherwise you won’t be able to move stuff over to your Exosuit inventory from the freighter Cargo. Leave one item you don’t care about in the Cargo of your old Freighter to initiate the dialog boxes to move inventory over to new freighter. This should prompt the second dialog box to transfer your current base freighter base to your new freighter. If all goes well, you should see your freighter base in your new freighter. Once you choose to purchase the new freighter, the game will autosave. This is where manual saves were wonderful if the base didn’t transfer over. You could always reload. Check the times on your saves. Hopefully when the game autosaves it doesn’t overwrite your restore point just in case something doesn’t transfer over.

Why is a frigate not a destroyer?

Destroyers are small in size compared to battleships but bigger than frigates. They usually have one smaller gun and many missiles, like anti-ship, cruise missiles and surface-to-air missiles. Advanced destroyers of today also have a helipad which aids with anti-submarine warfare.

Today, destroyers are heavily armed and armoured, perfect to face enemy ships face-to-face in a battle at sea.

Now that we have looked at how frigate and destroyer came into being, it is also important to note that in present times, the distinction between them has become blurred, thanks to the technological developments which have made all naval ships faster, more efficient, and better armed than earlier times. However, there still remain some differences between the two.

What eats a frigate?

Predators of frigatebirds include: domestic cats, rats and humans. Frigatebirds may kill chicks and eggs of conspecifics and congeners.

Frigatebirds are considered seasonally monogamous. Males gather in groups to display for females by spreading their wings, inflating their large scarlet gular sacs, and pointing their bills skywards. When a female flies over the group, each male quivers wings and head, and the bill vibrates against the inflated pouch producing a distinctive drumming sound. A female will land next to one male and two or three days of pair-formation ensues with periods of head snaking and the male taking the female’s bill into his own. The pair takes two to three weeks to build a nest on the display site. The male collects nesting material (sometimes pilfering from nearby nests) whereas the female defends the site and builds a nest from the materials brought by the male. Copulations occur at the nest site.

Frigatebirds breed in colonies numbering up to several thousand pairs. Breeding is considered biennial, although in some populations females may breed biennially whereas males may breed annually. The beginning of breeding is variable and may coincide with food availability. Nest-sites include trees, bushes, and cliffs. Nesting material consists of twigs, leaves, grass, seaweed and feathers. Females generally lay one whitish egg per clutch.
