Latta Plantation North Canoe Access is a paddling launch site located on Mountain Island Lake, Catawba River. It offers full service kayak and paddleboard rentals, with launch from the beautiful Latta Plantation park. Full day or half day rentals are available, and the park also provides a place to launch your own boat from the center. The National Whitewater Center is located just to the south of the lake, offering whitewater kayaking, rafting, flatwater kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking.

Latta Plantation Nature Preserve offers two launch options for canoes, kayaks, and SUPs. The North Canoe Access includes an accessible launch platform in a sheltered cove.
