How To Rent A Canoe In Latta Plantation?

Latta Plantation North Canoe Access is a paddling launch site located on Mountain Island Lake, Catawba River. It offers full service kayak and paddleboard rentals, with launch from the beautiful Latta Plantation park. Full day or half day rentals are available, and the park also provides a place to launch your own boat from the center. The National Whitewater Center is located just to the south of the lake, offering whitewater kayaking, rafting, flatwater kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking.

Latta Plantation Nature Preserve offers two launch options for canoes, kayaks, and SUPs. The North Canoe Access includes an accessible launch platform in a sheltered cove. Jon boats, canoes, and kayaks are available for rental for just 4 hours, or you can rent a pedal boat for just 2 for 30 minutes. You can also buy a day pass for 5 dollars.

At the lake, canoes and kayaks are available for rental, and picnic tables offer a nice place to rest while the family swims. Single kayaks for ages 10 and older are $20, and tandem kayaks for ages 5 and older with an adult are $25. Sunset Kayaking invites visitors to explore the lake, and there are many walking trails with nice views of the lake.

Latta Plantation has added boat rentals this year, and the lake is big but not too large for a hike or picnic. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.
