The Scout Shop has compiled a list of five helpful tips to craft a winning sailboat for the Raingutter Regatta. These tips include using the official Raingutter Regatta racing kit, practicing blowing the sails, ensuring the boat doesn’t break the rules, using water-based paints, and having fun. Zaiden builds his Rain Gutter Regatta for Cub Scouts, researching many videos and creating his own version of winning regattas.

The manual is focused on building hydroplaning from simple materials, craft tools, and a few days time. The main physics considerations in Raingutter Regatta racing include using the official kit, practicing blowing the sails, ensuring the boat doesn’t break the rules, and not using water-based paints.

To make the ultimate raingutter regatta racer, use fine sandpaper, scissors, polyurethane paintbrush, superglue, spray paint (optional), adult permission, and/or a recycle regatta. Packs can also have a simple Raingutter Regatta by turning it into a Recycled Raingutter Regatta, making it an environmentally friendly activity without the need for additional supplies.
