How far is the Brightline train station in Miami from the cruise port?
Although the ports aren’t within walking distance from Brightline’s stations, they are close enough that passengers can reasonably bridge the distance by taking an Uber or taxi. PortMiami’s cruise terminals, for instance, are just over a mile away from the Brightline Miami station. Port Everglades and the Port of Palm Beach are located roughly 3.5 and 4.5 miles away from the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach stations, respectively.
Additionally, Brightline passengers have the option of purchasing a fare inclusive of the Uber ride to or from the port of embarkation, eliminating the need to book separately.
The Orlando extension also places Port Canaveral within reach of Brightline passengers, albeit cruisers would need to secure alternate transportation to reach the port from MCO, much like if they were flying into the airport.

Is Brightline faster than car?
In exchange for this comfort, you are giving up the flexibility to travel exactly when you want, but in my opinion that’s a small concession for such an excellent onboard experience. And with the number of daily departures, there’s bound to be something that fits your schedule. It’s also important to note that the Brightline is only slightly faster than driving, and when you factor in the extra time for arriving at the station ahead of your departure and catching a rideshare to your accommodations upon arrival, the door-to-door travel times are about the same for a road trip or train ride.
Con: The Brightline Is Probably More Expensive…but Do the Math. If you’re looking for the most economical way to reach Orlando, the Brightline is unlikely to fit the bill. Average one-way ticket prices for SMART Service seats hover between $79 and $99 per person but can go as low as $39 or up to $119 for popular departure dates/times—sometimes even more. PREMIUM tickets fluctuate less in price and usually cost $149 per person, one way. Each passenger is allowed up to two carry-on items. For larger suitcases, SMART Service passengers must pay $25, while PREMIUM tickets include one checked luggage.
According to a recent study by NerdWallet, car rental prices are still generally high after the pandemic-induced spike, with a weekly rental in Orlando costing $519, on average. Meanwhile, Booking.com advises travelers to budget at least $415 for a weekly rental in Miami. Add the cost of gas, parking, and tolls (about $17 each way) and things could add up.

“I love trains” I need to find me a man like John 🤣 I guess it’s good that brightline is so popular it’s over booked rather than it’s so empty it’s on the verge of dying but I don’t think they should be allowed to sell you a premium ticket if there are no seats or at least it should be heavily discounted, but everything else looks pretty nice!
How early did you all arrive at the Fort Lauderdale train station? I have never been on a train so want to make sure I arrive early enough but not too early where we sit around for hours. Also when did you book your Uber ride, before arriving at the station or while on the train? Online it reads, “Rides must be requested at least 30 minutes ahead of arrival” wanted to make sure that meant prior to arrival destination.

How easy is to go from FLL to MIA? my family lives close to MIA but from where i live (PIT) is easier to find direct flights to FLL and then usually have to pay a lot of money on Uber and Lyft which not much about the money but the traffic and hustle after flying there is this a reliable alternative?
