How Long Is The Harvest Moon Regatta?

The 37th Annual Harvest Moon Regatta is an annual sailing race held at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas, from October 17th to 20th, 2024. The event, which began in 1987, is a thrilling offshore race that takes place from Galveston, Texas to Port Aransas, Texas. The regatta has grown from 17 yachts in 1987 to over 260 yachts. The 150 nautical-mile race begins at the Pleasure Pier in Galveston and follows the Texas coast to Port Aransas over two days and two nights, when the night sky is dominated by the beautiful harvest moon.

The event has grown from 17 yachts in 1987 to over 260 yachts. The 140-mile race will start in Galveston, leaving the Freeport Matagorda Outer buoys to starboard en route to Port Aransas, Texas. The competition is open to all levels of sailors, from average cruisers to extreme racers.

A dedicated AIS antenna is an acceptable alternative to the traditional AIS antenna, which is a minimum of 0.9 meters long. The event is a must-do for anyone interested in sailing under a magnificent full moon each October. Racers can register, view documents and information, and live track their boats.

My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.
