How Far Is Queens Staircase From Cruise Port?

The Queens Staircase, also known as the 66 Steps, is a significant landmark in the Fort Fincastle Historic District of Nassau Bahamas. It is located a short five-minute drive or 13-minute walk from the cruise port. The staircase was chiseled out of solid limestone between 1793 and 1794 by slaves and connects Fort Fincastle to Downtown Nassau. The location is about a mile away, and locals often offer tours to visitors.

The Queens Staircase is a major landmark in Nassau Bahamas, and it is only a 13-minute walk from the cruise port. Google Nassau self-guided walking tours can be found on gpsmycity, which has a map available for those interested. The route to the Queens Staircase takes about 10-15 minutes.

After walking through the Nassau Bahamas Cruise Terminal into the marketplace, the fort and Queens Staircase are about a 13-14 minute walk from the cruise dock. The stairs were constructed as a direct passageway to Fort Fincastle, which sits on top of Bennetts Hill, the highest point in Nassau. The Queens Staircase is very close, and it is recommended to walk up the street to get to the top of the staircase and then down the stairs and back to the port.

The Rum Cake Factory is located on the same touristy street (E Bay) as many other attractions in Nassau. If you’re new to Nassau Bahamas, the Queens Staircase is an iconic landmark that can be easily reached from the cruise port.
