I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • Please encourage visitors to put Arizona pl or Pearl Harbor National Park in their GPS. Or advise visitors that Ford Island Bridge is only accessible with Government Issued identification. The Aviation museum and Battleship is on Ford Island). So many visitors try to come on the bridge and get turned around and it really backs traffic. Some visitors also have tried to demand their way on and that ends up becoming a lockdown. With this, visitors can get their reservation on time.

  • We plan to go to Oahu in June and appreciate your comprehensive articles; they’ve been so helpful. I have a small question, I have reservations for the ferry/admission to the USS Arizona at 8:00am. Do we also have to have preordered tickets to the USS Missouri or will we be ok to purchase them the day we are there visiting (since we will be there early)? Thank you in advance for your response.

  • Hello. Great article and very informative. I just discovered your website as we plan our trip for end of September 2022. We’re traveling with my brother who requires a wheelchair. Any tips for Pearl Harbor and all other island sites and activities and navigating the island with a wheelchair would be much appreciated and super helpful. Keep up the great articles!

  • Thank you for this. I want to see it all but am afraid it will be too overwhelming to take in all the sites and do them justice. Another concern is we plan to visit the USS Arizona on our transition from our Waikiki hotel to Aulani. This will require us to leave our suitcases in our rental. I realize this isn’t ideal. Is this asking for trouble while parked in the lot at Pearl Harbor? We obviously wouldn’t display our suitcases in the backseat but I am concerned. By the way our date is this Memorial Day weekend and our tickets for the USS Arizona fall on that Friday.

  • We will be visiting next year and one of our reasons is to visit Pearl Harbor. We will be on land a full day and half. There is a combo tour of Pearl Harbor and Polynesian Cultural Center. Do you know if this is a rushed tour of Pearl Harbor or worth it? OR do you know which tour would be best for a group of 10 to 14?
