A suite is a large room within a cruise ship’s top tier of cabins, offering special perks such as quicker check-in and more creative accommodations than land-based hotels. Suites are typically larger than balcony cabins, measuring around 160-180 square feet. Interior suites, the smallest type of suites on cruise ships, typically range from around 160 to 200 square feet. The biggest suites on Carnival Panorama have 345 square feet of interior space, plus an 85-square-foot balcony.
Cruise suite accommodations are premium grades cabins, usually larger in comparison to balcony staterooms and featuring more amenities. They usually have a full-size bathtub and a separate sleeping and living area. The most jaw-dropping Funnel Suites span four levels and clock in at more than 9,600 square feet, about four times larger than the average.
In general, suites are designed to sleep two people, though most have a sofa that pulls out to accommodate a third passenger. Some suites that can accommodate up to six guests are available on Oasis-class ships. The Royal Loft Suites on Oasis-class ships measure nearly 1,800 square feet and feature two bedrooms, a large living room with a soaring ceiling.
The average size of an inside cabin is 167 feet squared (15.7 meters squared), varying not only by cruise line but also by ship. Cabin size varies from 158 sq ft for an inside cabin to 1873 for a sky suite, with two storeys covering nearly 2,000 square feet, it can sleep up to eight guests.
