Has Lego Released A Nebulon B Medical Frigate?

LEGO Star Wars 77904 Nebulon-B Frigate is a set that was initially planned as an event exclusive for the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was cancelled, and the set has been made available for purchase. The original version was never in this color, and the new dark color appears only in the Razor Crest set (now the Nebulon-B).

The set was designed to be a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, but it was later made available for purchase at Bricks Pieces. The Nebulon-B Frigate is an iconic, but under-represented ship, and the model appears exceptionally detailed and compares favorably with the vessel from The Empire Strikes Back. The set is marked as a special edition set that was originally intended to be released.

The Nebulon-B Frigate is an iconic, but under-represented ship, and the model appears exceptionally detailed and compares favorably with the vessel from The Empire Strikes Back. The completed model is a great set with TERRIBLE release, looking and feeling amazing, and aside from its awesomeness, it is not yet officially released. There is a rumour about a supposedly secret UCS Nebulon Frigate model hidden inside LEGO’s new Billund Campus. The model is made of 1385 pieces and is 58cm long and 30cm high. It was featured in the February 2020 issue of BLOCKS magazine.

Does the Nebulon-B have a hangar?

There is some dispute among fans on the claimed fighter capacity of the Nebulon-B. Computer games and the deck plans in The Far Orbit Project show a hangar in the forward hull, with a launch aperture in the starboard flank, but there seems to be no such opening on the model used in the movies. Other depictions in the computer games show starfighters docking and launching via an opening in the thin connection between the superstructure and drive bay.

However, the The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, seemingly the source which first introduced the Nebulon-B’s starfighter capability, mentions no internal hangars. The text simply says: “The escort frigate has the capacity to carry up to two squadrons of starfighters into battle. In addition, the ship has docking fixtures to accommodate ships of up to medium freighter size” (p. 60). Since The Empire Strikes Back shows the “docking fixtures” to be external hardpoints on the spar between the prow superstructure and engines, it is possible that the fighters could also be carried on a rack along the spar, in the manner of Carrack-class cruisers, assault frigates, and FarStar.

Additionally, some fans have speculated that some Nebulon-Bs could have been equipped with an enclosed hangar bay fitted under the spar, filling the space between the forward keel and the engine block. Perhaps added as aftermarket additions, such hangars would enable them to carry fighters like X-wings more comfortably, and Kalla’s Stanchion, a ship that could belong to this subtype of the class, has appeared in Rebel Alliance hands in issue 22 of Star Wars: Empire. Although scaling extrapolations when compared with snubfighters shown in the same panels would suggest a size significantly larger than the 300m-long Nebulon-B, the two designs correspond closely in appearance, and the size discrepancy may simply be a result of artistic license in the comic-book art. Footage from the game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II depicts the Nebulon-B frigate Salvation dwarfing the 65-meter Rogue Shadow by an order of magnitude.

What is the most powerful frigate?

INTRODUCTION. Frigates are an indispensable part of any navy. These ships usually form the numerical bulk of a naval fleet as they are relatively cheaper than large destroyers and cruisers. Every modern navy operates frigates in some or the other form and uses them along with larger surface combatants like destroyers and aircraft carriers. The definition of a modern frigate by Defencyclopedia is.

A modern frigate is a 3000-7000 ton warship, equipped with an array of missiles, guns and radars, and is designed to operate autonomously, along with a battle group or act as an escort for non-combatants, in order to fulfill a variety of tasks depending on the mission.

A warship displacing 5000-7000 tons need not always be called as a frigate, as many navies prefer the designation of a ‘destroyer’ for such warships. The designations vary from one navy to another, but the role of the ships does not change. Some countries call their larger surface combatants as frigates for political reasons and some others call their smaller surface combatants as frigates. A modern frigate can displace anywhere between 3000-7000 tons. But for the sake of this article, only frigates displacing 4000-7000 tons will be considered.

What was the first Lego ship?

To celebrate BrickNerd’s pirate contest from last year, I wanted to look at the many sets that LEGO has produced over the years that contain ships or boats. The early days of the LEGO System focused more on the Town Plan theme, so ships were rare in those days. But as early as 1959, the box of Town Plan set 200 shows building suggestions that could be two ships. In 1968, LEGO released the first set with a ship as its main model: 343 Ferry. Minifigures weren’t around yet in 1968, but this set was certainly “minifigure scale”.

Minifigure-sized ships have since appeared in many themes like City, Pirates and Vikings, but you might be surprised to find ships and boats in other themes such as Adventurers, Indiana Jones and Vidiyo.

However in this article I want to talk about “Model Ships”. In other words, LEGO sets with ships that are not populated by minifigures but are instead scale models of real ships. The most recent and famous example of a LEGO model ship is, of course, the massive 10294 Titanic set, but did you know there were many interesting sets before that?

Where is the biggest hangar in the world?

Hangar V of the Lufthansa Base at Frankfurt’s Rhine/Main Airport is the world’s largest aircraft maintenance building. It provides a working space of 300,000 square feet. The interior of the building has a minimum clearance of 82 feet. The hangar provides four main servicing areas in which four 747’s can be worked on abreast but these can be lengthened another 13 feet should the need arise. The hangar is in use day and night therefore a great deal of attention was given to ensuring efficient lighting at a reasonable cost. One quarter of the room area is skylight and at night, 156 metal halid vapour lamps light up the whole working area. Heating tubes are embeded in the floor; radial roof air heat both floors and working areas. The building also has its own power supply. Other facilities include a large number of fire fighting gear; two tramrail underhung cranes; docking facilities; and a computer system which monitors servicing and maintenance of the entire fleet. The computer also does engine running time calculations, flight-hours registration, and spare parts inventory and movement.

What is the name of Nebulon-B frigate?

The EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, also known as the Nebulon-B frigate, was a class of frigate manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards. Despite being intended for Imperial Navy service, it gained more fame as a Rebel Cruiser used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic and its successor, the New Republic, throughout the Galactic Civil War.

The EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate was an escort frigate manufactured with a highly versatile design platform that allowed it to function in several different capacities as part of a fleet. The vessels featured a propulsion module that housed 7 aft-mounted ion engines connected to the forward blade-like body by a thin, cylindrical hull section. The propulsion module also contained the ship’s deflector shield generator situated at the top of the craft. A primary long-range communications array protruded from the top of the craft, while the bridge was located halfway down the ship’s fore. The bridge contained a holoprojector, at least four crew stations, and a primary command station. These vessels also contained a command center and hangar bays capable of housing light freighters, several shuttles, and a squadron of starfighters. Heavily armed, a Nebulon-B carried twelve turbolaser and twelve laser cannons, with the main weapons of each installed on the bottom edge of the ship’s forward hull. It also carried powerful dual tractor beams.

Many Nebulon-B frigates were utilized as medical frigates by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and were equipped with bacta tanks, medical droids, and full-service hospital facilities. The main medical bay on a Nebulon-B could hold up to 700 patients, and was located at the highest module at the bow of the starship. Docking tubes were located on the connecting neck between both sections of the frigate.

What is the oldest frigate ship?

Designed by Joshua Humphreys and launched on October 21, 1797, at Boston, Massachusetts, USS Constitution began her service as the oldest commissioned warship in the U.S. Navy by participating in the Quasi-War with France, 1798-1800, and in the First Barbary War, 1801-05. During the War of 1812, she was victorious in battle against HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812 (where she gained her nickname Old Ironsides), HMS Java on December 29, and HMS Cyane and HMS Levant on February 20, 1815. By 1833, Constitution needed repairs and was about to be scrapped when Oliver Wendell Holmes’ poem Old Ironsides helped to save her. Recommissioned in 1835, she served in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Pacific, where she became the first U.S. warship to conduct a show of force against Vietnam in May 1845. While serving with the African Squadron in November 1853, Constitution captured American slaver H.N. Gambrill, her last prize. Decommissioned in 1860, she then trained midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy. Following reconstruction in 1870 and training sailors in the Atlantic, she returned to Boston to serve as a receiving ship and was saved again from destruction in 1905. Renamed Old Constitution in December 1917 due to her name assigned to a projected battle-cruiser, Constitution regained her name in 1925 after the Washington Navy Treaty cancelled the warship. Following restoration that began in 1925,she was recommissioned in July 1931 and sailed on a 90-port tour along United States’ coasts. In May 1934, she received the classification of IX-21, which was rescinded in 1975. Reconstructed in 1995 and 2015, Constitutionstill makes an annual Turnaround Cruise in Boston Harbor on July 4th and serves as a educational and outreachsymbol of the U.S. Navy’s great days of fighting sail and of courageous and patriotic naval service.

Two models of Constitution can be found in The Forgotten Wars of the 19th Century section of the National Museum of the U.S. Navy.
