Does John Kerry Own A Yacht?

John Kerry, the 68th US Secretary of State, has been accused of owning a luxurious lifestyle and using a private jet. He is known for his wealth, including six homes, two yachts, 12 cars, and a private jet. The gas-guzzling private jet owned by Kerry’s family has taken 16 flights this year alone. Kerry served in the Navy aboard boats known as PCFs or swift boats, and his 76-foot sailing yacht, Isabel, is being sold for 3.9 million.

The Boston Herald reported that Kerry commissioned construction on a new 7 million yacht (a Friendship 75) in New Zealand and moored it in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The Kerrys have listed their New Zealand-built yacht, Isabel, for 4 million. The sale comes amid ongoing political tumult in Egypt.

John Kerry and his wife Teresa Heinz are the owners of a Gulfstream G-IV private jet with registration N57HJ. They were aboard the yacht on July 4th amid the ongoing political tumult in Egypt. Kerry attended Yale University, majoring in political science, in 1962.

In response to allegations of climate czar John Kerry’s lavish lifestyle, the Kerrys are selling their yacht for 3.9 million. The yacht is the largest yacht model of its kind that can be piloted by its owners and guests.

  • World’s most expensive private jets and who owns them

Private jets are not only a convenient way of traveling, but also a status symbol for the wealthy and powerful. Some of these jets are so luxurious and customized that they cost more than some countries’ GDP. Here are some of the most expensive jets in the world owned by people, and who they belong to.

The Airbus A380 owned by Saudi Prince Al Waleed is the world’s priciest private jet at $500 million. Originally a long-haul aircraft, it underwent a lavish transformation, shedding standard seats for opulence. Costing 300 million euros initially, an additional 200 million secured extravagant features: a 10+ seat dining room, spa, prayer room, grand piano area, marbled water features, and an entertainment stadium. This colossal jet houses a garage and stable, ensuring the prince’s luxury cars, horses, and camels travel alongside. Spanning 500 square meters over two levels, it boasts a central throne, transparent floor room, staircase, and a deluxe meeting space.

Does John Kerry’s wife own a private jet?

Waltz asked Kerry if he stood by his testimony that he’s never owned a private jet.

Waltz asked if Kerry had flown on that plane, and Kerry admitted he had.

“Here’s the issue,” Waltz said. “This isn’t some kind of partisan gotcha. When we are asking Americans to make serious sacrifices as we transition for the common good, and your family and/or yourself are flying around on private jets, that smacks of hypocrisy.”

Kerry then said he doesn’t fly on a private jet and only flies commercial.

“Have you flown on a private jet in a personal or official capacity since you’ve taken this position?” Waltz asked.

How did John Kerry get his money?

As members of the Forbes and Dudley–Winthrop families, his maternal extended family enjoyed great wealth. Kerry’s parents themselves were upper-middle class, and a wealthy grand-aunt paid for him to attend elite boarding schools such as Institut Montana Zugerberg in Switzerland. Through his maternal ancestry, Kerry also descends from Rev. James McGregor who was among the first 500 Scots-Irish immigrants to Boston Harbor in the 18th century.

At the age of ten, Kerry’s father took a position as the U.S. Attorney for Berlin. When Kerry was twelve, he crossed into the Soviet Occupation Zone to visit Hitler’s bunker and ride through the Brandenburg Gate. If Kerry had been captured, it would have caused an international incident.

In 1957, his father was stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, Norway, and Kerry was sent back to the United States to attend boarding school. He first attended the Fessenden School in Newton, Massachusetts, and later St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, where he learned skills in public speaking and began developing an interest in politics. Kerry founded the John Winant Society at St. Paul’s to debate the issues of the day; the Society still exists there. In 1960, while at St. Paul’s, he played bass in a minor rock band called The Electras with six of his classmates. The band had about five hundred copies of one album printed in 1961, which they sold some of at dances at the school; it was made available on streaming platforms many years later.

How long did John Kerry serve in Vietnam?

The military career of John Kerry occurred during the Vietnam War. Kerry served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during the period from 1966 to 1970. His only tour in Vietnam was four months as officer in charge of a Swift boat in 1969. Kerry received several combat medals during this tour, including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts. Kerry’s military record received considerable attention during his political career, especially during his unsuccessful 2004 bid for the presidency.

On February 18, 1966, John Kerry enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He began his active duty military service on August 19, 1966. After completing sixteen weeks of Officer Candidate School at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Newport, Rhode Island, he received his commission on December 16, 1966.

On January 3, 1967, Kerry began a ten-week Officer Damage Control Course at the Naval Schools Command on Treasure Island, California. On March 22, 1967, he reported to the U.S. Fleet Anti-Air Warfare Training Center for training as a Combat Information Center Watch Officer.

Was John Kerry in combat?

In an interview in 2003, Schachte made no mention of being on the skimmer with Kerry that night; in addition, he described the action as a “firefight” and said of Kerry, “He got hit.” In August 2004, however, Schachte stated that he was the senior officer on Kerry’s skimmer that night, with one enlisted man also on board, that he popped a flare after detecting movement, and opened fire. He stated that there was no return fire, and that Kerry was “nicked” by a fragment from an M-79 grenade launcher he fired himself. Moreover, while Schachte has described Kerry as, at the time, a “rookie (who) would never be put in command” of a skimmer mission, Kerry was actually given command of a Swift Boat and crew just three days after the skimmer mission and sent into a combat area.

Kerry crewmates Bill Zaladonis and Patrick Runyon dispute Schachte’s 2004 account. Zaladonis stated that “Myself, Pat Runyon, and John Kerry, we were the only ones in the skimmer.” Runyon added, “Me and Bill (sic) aren’t the smartest, but we can count to three.” They recounted that the skimmer opened fire on suspected guerrillas attempting to evade the patrol, as they ran from sampan boats onto the shore. Both Runyon and Zaladonis believe, but are not completely certain, that the skimmer received return hostile fire; Runyon commented, “It was the scariest night of my life.” Runyon also stated that he is “100 percent certain” that no one on the boat fired a grenade launcher. Zaladonis has noted that Schachte went on “a bunch of” other skimmer missions and speculated that Schachte might have inadvertently mixed up his dates.

In an SBVT television ad, Dr. Lewis Letson asserted, “I know John Kerry is lying about his first Purple Heart because I treated him for that injury,” but did not specify the alleged lie; he subsequently gave varied accounts of his purported interaction with Kerry. Kerry’s medical records list a medic, J. C. Carreon, as the “person administering treatment” for this wound. Dr. Letson’s name does not appear on the record, but Letson claimed it was common for medics to sign the paperwork even though Letson would treat the patient. That claim cannot be verified as Carreon died in 1992. In addition, Letson claimed he was given information by way of Kerry’s crewmen who accompanied him to the clinic, but neither Zaladonis nor Runyon accompanied Kerry, nor has any crewman who was on the nearby Swift Boat supported this claim.
