To apply for a Thailand Tourist Visa, you can apply online. U.S. citizen tourists entering Thailand for fewer than 60 days do not require a visa under the Visa on Arrival rule or Visa Exemption scheme. You can also apply in advance for a multiple-entry visa for up to 60 days.

Nationals entitled to Visa Exemption are eligible to enter Thailand without a visa through land border checkpoints only twice a calendar year. Citizens of 31 countries and territories may apply for visa on arrival at the immigration checkpoints on arrival for tourism purposes.

From July 15, 2024, citizens from 93 countries will be able to stay in Thailand without a visa for 60 days. U.S. citizens carrying a tourist passport and in possession of an onward or return airline ticket do not require a visa to enter Thailand. This makes it one of the easiest countries in Asia to visit impulsively.
