Does Dramamine Help After A Cruise?

Dramamine® is a popular over-the-counter medication that helps prevent and treat all four symptoms associated with motion sickness: nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and queasiness. Bonine (Meclizine) is a chewable pill that can be taken once a day and is less expensive than Dramamine. Over-the-counter medications like Dramamine, Meclizine (also known as Bonine), or diphenhydramine (commonly called Benadryl) can also help prevent or alleviate seasickness.

For those experiencing motion sickness after a cruise, several medications can help alleviate symptoms. Some of the most common are Dramamine and Bonine. To prevent seasickness, a first dose should be taken 12 to 1 hour before a boat ride or cruise. After that, it is suggested to take 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours.

Some travelers also believe a decongestant or motion sickness remedy, such as Dramamine, can help. For more serious cases, doctors may prescribe Dramamine. While Dramamine may not work for everyone, it is generally considered more effective at preventing motion sickness.

Some of the best seasickness tablets for a cruise include Dramamine or Bonine, which can be taken before nausea. Many ships dispense motion sickness medications to prevent cruisers from becoming seasick.
