Can you pay for 1 person on a cruise?

What is a single supplement?. It’s a fact— the price that you see for a cruise ship cabin is typically based on double occupancy. That means the price you are seeing is ½ the total cost of the stateroom. It is the cost paid by each person assuming that two people will be staying in a room, each paying the stated price. Essentially, if you want to travel alone, and have your own room…you pay double. More specifically you pay the Cruise/Port costs times 2, but the taxes and gratuities times 1.

The good news, solo cruising is on the rise and many cruise lines have added new features and accommodations for the solo traveler. Several cruise lines are including solo cabins and many are offering no or low single supplements for solo travelers.

What is a “single supplement?”. When you see the term “single supplement” it is a surcharge to recover revenue lost when a solo traveler occupies a room that could accommodate two guests. These single supplements (that amount added to the stated per person price) can range anywhere from not having to pay extra at all to 100 percent of the cruise and port fees for the second person who’s not occupying the stateroom.

The best part about being a solo cruiser is that you have your own private space to retreat to but still get to take part in all the exciting activities offered on board if you want. What you do or don’t do is completely up to you. You don’t have to consult with anyone, you’re in complete control. Proverbially speaking, who doesn’t like being the captain of their own ship!

What is group fare ticket?

What is group booking in airlines? “Airlines class a group booking as any request that comes through for 10 seats or more with the same carrier, route and date. That said, each airline has differences in what they consider as the minimum amount to provide group fares from.”, says Claudia.

Ah, the moment when your boss walks up to you and says you’re in charge of organizing the upcoming company getaway. No big deal, right?. You just have to handle group reservations like flights and hotels for 85 people from New York to Miami.

How many rooms are considered a group on a Carnival cruise?

Its usually 8 cabins that are needed for a group and you can pick different cabin types. It is possible to be a free berth (bed) or cabin if you book enough people. If more people book an inside as opposed to a balcony you will get a lower credit. You can also get a deposit drop to $25 with a group booking.

Folks – I can’t believe how many different versions – and MUCH incorrect information – is being given out here. I wouldn’t begin to explain the program as it’s been a while since I looked at it. Too many different versions posted here to even begin tp clarify which is correct and which is incorrect.

To the OP – contact Carnival Groups department – use the 1-800-Carniva # and I believe there is a GROUPS option or ask for groups when someone anxwers. Even if you decide to use the broker – it is Carnival prpgram and they can best explain it. Get it directly from the horses mouth.

If you have members of your group who are eligible for the military discount they may be better off booking seperatly and getting their discount (if that leaves you enough people for the group booking).

How many people do you need for a group rate on a cruise?

You are correct. You need a minimum of 8 cabins (booked and paid for in full) to qualify for a group discount. They are not all the same, all of the time. It depends on the ship, itinerary (popularity) Date of sailing, etc.. Keep in mind you will only receive the “Group” reservation discount based on the category of cabin with the most reservations. For example if 5 of your cabins are inside or ocean view and 3 are balconies you will get the inside/ocean view discount for all 8 cabins. Not one discount for the 5 and another for the 3.

You will also have to coordinate with everyone to ensure they are making their required deposits/payments on time..

Just ask your TA a lot of questions and make sure they have handled “Groups” before. They are not as easy as you might think.

What are the benefits of a group cruise?

Special perks. When you book multiple cabins, you get added perks like onboard credits, complimentary specialty dining, drink vouchers, etc. If you are with a large group, you can get many amenities that are not part of the standard services offered to all. Some of them might be group parties, surfing for the group without having to wait in a queue, etc.

Discount for kids. Some cruise lines offer discounted rates for third or fourth passengers along with two full-paying guests. Other cruise lines offer free cruises for two children when they share a cabin with two full-fare adults. Many other cruise lines occasionally offer special promotions for children. Therefore, traveling with family becomes easier when you book a group cruise.

Onboard advantages. By booking a group cruise, you can use the spas, bars, shops, and other venues onboard with shipboard credits as an added advantage. If you book anything for more than five full-fare people, you get credits of a few hundred dollars. Certain cruises also offer a voucher for booking a stateroom. These are one of the most exciting benefits of a group cruise.
