ATT Cruise SM Day Pass 2 allows passengers to use the same plan they use at home while on select cruise ships. There is no charge to have Cruise Day Pass on your line, and you will only be charged if you use it. The daily fee is 15 for each 24-hour period that you talk, text, or use.
The International Day Pass (IDP) is a new mobile package for cruise and ferry passengers, offering affordable connectivity at sea. It provides up to 1GB of data, talk, and unlimited text on over 175 cruise ships. I HIGHLY recommend getting a prepaid SIM in your destination country especially if you’re visiting Asia or Europe. It can be the difference of paying $15 for a 5GB eSIM(or even more direct from a US carrier) vs $1 for 200GB of data on a local prepaid SIM. The best way to go about this is probably to get a T-Mobile plan with included international roaming so that you still have access to your number abroad along with a dual SIM phone with either eSIM or physical SIM. If it’s an eSIM phone use the eSIM for your T-Mobile plan because the physical SIM prepaid options are much cheaper usually and easier to find and activate.

Thanks for the informative article. As of right now I am in the Dominican Republic vacationing and I have Visible. My friend told me that since I have an unlocked S21 Ultra, my best option would be to stop at the Claro in the airport and get a data only sim for 5 days which only comes to about $10 and its unlimited. However, I totally forgot, and didn’t realize it until I got to the hotel. The amazing thing is once I connected to Wi-Fi my phone worked 100% with Wi-Fi calling. I was able to make and receive calls, texts, and MMs, no problem. And every place I went had WiFi so I was more than cool with that. Just wanted to throw another option out there for the Visible. Thanks again for the article.
I have AT&T and my friends have T-Mobile and Verizon. We went to Aruba a few months back and AT&T was the only one that had fast download speeds (40MBps). One of my friends had T-Mobile and was trying to use walking directions and it was simply unusable. If I’m traveling for a week or less, I just use AT&T’s day pass and add the extra $70 to the total of my trip. If I’m going to be gone longer, then I’ll just buy a local sim. Airalo looks interesting and I’ll check that out.
Hey, Stetson. Do note that, AT&T gives Unlimited Talk & Text and data across Canada, Mexico and US at no extra charge with Postpaid and Prepaid, they say data speeds are 2G speeds but it’s not. T-Mobile has an $5 add on for Unlimited Talk & Text and 5 GB of data in Canada and Mexico, before it’s 2G data, I think it’s both postpaid and prepaid.
Excellent article and information, Question I currently have T-Mobile Magenta @90 bucks a month (auto pay 85) but my question is i see Google Fi advertised and they are stating 70 dollars a month includes international coverage like T-Mpbile Do you recommend Google FI or should i stick with T-Mobile i will be traveling back to the Philippines when it opens for tourists and i know T-mobile has almost n coverage there.
you can just buy a local SIM wherever you go… SIMs these days are dirt cheap, for instance I recently was in India and bought a SIM for $4, that included 1.5GB LTE per day (yes PER DAY!!!) and valid for 30 days. Makes the prices in your article seem downright ridiculous. I was in Greece recently and paid I believe $10 for a 5GB LTE SIM valid for 30 days.
Wait — T-Mobile for Global Plus 15GB and the Unlimited hotspot data in the US… so getting this plus Magenta Max would make it 5G Unlimited? One line ($85) and the $50 for this plan means $135/mo (I guess the $50 could have taxes) — that’s a really good deal, right? Especially compared to the others? I can’t figure out on T-Mobile’s site the tablet plan add-on being $20 and it not being clear what exactly you get with that — so adding to phone and hotspotting would be the best option. Correct me if I’m wrong! Thanks for the great content!
