For international cruises to destinations like the South Pacific, New Zealand, Hawaii, and Singapore, all guests must have a passport valid for 6 months after the cruise return date. For domestic cruises, Australian residents must provide a Government-issued photo ID or passport. Children must also have a government-issued ID or passport. A current Medicare card can be used for passengers under 18. For domestic cruises that do not visit a foreign port, a valid passport or government-issued photo identification is required.
All sailors, except Australian citizens and permanent residents on domestic voyages, must have a passport book valid for at least 6 months. Passports are not required for cruising within Australia, but car license details are required. Passports must be valid for the duration of time required by the countries being visited in the cruise itinerary.
Guests who do not bring a passport are advised to present an accepted form of identification to board the ship based on their nationality and country of citizenship. Passports are recommended for both domestic and international cruises, including travel to Australia, with two blank pages and a photo ID. Australians do not need their passports for domestic cruises unless the ship visits a foreign port.
