📹 Erik’s FIRST Time Eating Culvers Fast Food!
#TheElectrics #ErikTheElectric #Mukbang In this video, Erik ordered tried Culvers fast food for the first time! Erik ordered some …
They’re originated from right here in WI. They’re absolutely incredible. I wouldn’t personally consider it fast food, though it does come out quite fast. But they cook everything the same as a higher quality restaurant. In my opinion it deserves more than a 7. Especially for the quality and speed put together.
missourian here! culvers is sooo good its one of my favourite fast food places, they definitely have my favourite fast food burgers. i was really giddy because you basically ordered exactly what i get! deluxe burger with no vegetables or mayo (texture issues w veggies on burgers + i just dont like mayo), cheese curds, and a chocolate brownie custard !! you summed up their food really well but i do recommend the two slices of cheese rather than one, maybe thats my cheese obsession talking but they have good cheese there! idk how i didnt know they had marinara, ill have to try that next time. last note, i used to be incredibly allergic to egg whites (had to be hospitalised over angel food cake), but i didnt react as severely to their custard, so my family and i ended up using that to track and see if my allergies would go away since egg allergies are commonly outgrown. thankfully ive been able to safely eat eggs for over a decade now and can enjoy their custard without any side effects 🙂
As someone who was born, raised, and spent 18 and a half years in Minnesota, if me and my family wanted fast food, we’d go to Culver’s. For a chain, their food is significantly better than most since I can actually tolerate it. Now I’m just really lucky to be living in Texas with a Culver’s in walking distance. It’s almost like I never left!
I work at a Culver’s and am always really excited to see his opinions on it. I applied to work there because I loved the food, can definitely agree the Deluxe is great, and Cheese Curds are addictive. I hope they remembered to ask if you wanted ketchup and mustard on the Deluxe, they forgot last time and you said ketchup would really bring it up.
I am from the South who went to Wisconsin and Minnesota this summer and had Culver’s because of popular reviews. Their HAMburgers (this is the proper word, burger isn’t a word) was fabulous. Wonderful. It was so good I had it in Iowa the next day. Very very good. And really not that expensive for what you got. One small complaint to anyone who has never been to a Culver restaurant. You order your food and get a number. The food doesn’t come up right away, basically you have to wait five or ten minutes. I ordered the basic hamburger and fries and was just waiting and after a bit waving my hands going “Hey, you forget about me?” What you do is take your number, get your drink (from a wide variety of options) find a table and sit. Place has good WiFi. They will come with your order and give you table service. So if you are a Culver novice, just to know about how things work there. It isn’t McDonalds. I asked the Iowa manager when they are coming South and he said that Culver’s is going into Texas. Dunno if that is the best strategy but there it is. I think this place could be the hamburger version of Chick-fil-A. Except they aren’t religious nuts who close on Sundays.
I used to work there we made a huge version of the Big Mac once sooooo good. Also cheese curds dipped in ranch with hot sauce added in is perfect. I’ll never forget the mornings of making custard and making my coffee with a pump of salted caramel and a little scoop of custard for the cream. So delicious 🤤 loved working there
OMG! I just looked them up and there is one about 20 min.s away. Looking at their menu, I think I need to move next door to them to try everything that looks good to me. That Cherry Frozen Custard thing- OMG! I could just die.Their Sea Food Menu might make me look forward to Lent. And I’m not a Vegetarian but that Vegi-burger could change that for me- LOL, No, I love bacon. And their salads! Even their Chili looks super yum. I will be checking them out. Thank you for turning me on to them.
Our Culver’s opened five days ago, been there twice & plan to go there tomorrow. I 2nd his recommendation to get a double burger for the reason he said. I had a single patty Wisconsin Swiss Melt which was good but the single patty was overwhelmed. 2nd time I had the Reuben which was loaded! Tomorrow is Friday so Fish for me, probably with Cheese Curds, which I have not yet had. Both Fries & Rings are hot, substantial, & crispy. Service is extraordinary! Oh, and his double-patty deluxe burger being under $6? That reminded me this was made four years ago. I just checked… it’s now under $7 w/o bacon… Amazingly good price! Under $8 w/ bacon.
I love Culvers, the food is always made to order so it’s hot and fresh. It makes the drive-thru kinda slow but it’s worth the wait. Which brings me to my first point: cheese curds should be eaten IMMEDIATELY while the cheese is still hot and gooey! Don’t talk, eat. Second, they have a lot of items that aren’t on the drive-thru menu but you can still order them so check the menu online before you go. The fried jumbo shrimp basket with fries is excellent. Big, tender, crunchy-breaded shrimp that tastes great with their cocktail sauce. Same for the fried cod basket/dinner. Their best burger is the double cheddar butterburger with bacon. The cheddar is a nice switch from all the “american” cheese that proliferates so many burgers. The mushroom and swiss burger is great too. Their chicken sandwiches are good. They used to make fried chicken that was the best in town but they took it off the menu, dammit. Anyway my point is, this isn’t just another burger joint, they have a variety of good stuff. I can go there 6 times and not eat the same thing twice.
We love Culver’s, but we always get the kids meal. Which is a full size butter burger and we get the deluxe condiments (mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) reg fry, reg drink and a small custard all for one price like seven dollars or so. We usually upgrade one to have onion rings. Up this to me is a great buy. Also with the kids meal you get two coupons one is for your custard and then the other one you save and when you get ten of them you get a free kids meal or one of their many things to chose from (footballs, stuff toys, and others) but we always save them.
Worked at a Culver’s. They’re not as standardized as McD’s or BK, so the quality can vary heavily by location and day. The one I worked at is probably the worst in all of the midwest, the food was nearly inedible. Thanks to them I don’t trust that chain at all, a lazy owner can just totally destroy the food. Oh, and if anyone is wondering, it was the Culver’s in Winona, MN. We ran out of food every week (we even ran out of cups one day, a non-perishable,) and the owner tried to spice things as little as possible, so it was all just insanely bland. We also got yelled at if we added a half pecan too much to a sunday, since ‘pecans were their most expensive topping.’ Will never eat at any Culver’s after that experience.
It’s so inexplicable how this man brings me a dose of joy and laughter by reviewing food. I don’t get it. Maybe I’m not supposed to understand. Perhaps that’s the true power, the genius, nay the sheer divinity of the man. To say he is running on empty just so we can attempt to relate to the majesty. We are truly in debt to this being.
Culver’s 🍔🍟🥪🍦🥤 opened in central FL around 2017 or so… I ate there often when I worked near the Mall of Millenia, Orlando FL. The 🐟 sammy is ✔. The fries & side items are good. The soft drinks, milk shakes are +. I also eat the “pot roast” sandwich which fills you up, great meal… I dont recall eating 🍔 but my friends liked them. Prices & service are good, clean restaurant.
I used to work at Culver’s in Georgia. That burger was poorly made the patties wasn’t even lined up correctly. Culver’s is good though, Just a tad bit expensive. The cheese curds and tenders are the best. The custard taste like the ice cream that comes in the cup a blue bell cup. The Cod is tasteless. You just dip in flour and some weak seasoned batter then fry it. Maybe if they seasoned the fish or revamp the batter it would be better. Culver’s overall 8/10
Hey anyone familiar with the Roy Rogers chain? Was around here in NYC during 80s and 90s. Thought they were gone for good, but I’ve seen them on highways outside the city a few years ago. I couldn’t describe what it was about their burgers that created such happy memories, but could it be that the style is “butter burgers” like described here?
One of my go-to places for sure. I tend to get a single but I do occasionally get a double (sometimes as a straight hamburger, lol). They usually have flyers every month or two with a bunch of dollar off a value basket coupons, which makes the single basket a very good value, though I tend to add cheese curds when I have a coupon. The frozen custard is pretty decent IMO, but fat content is off the charts compared to soft serve. 2 scoop banana split is 61g fat and 92g of sugar at Culver’s compared to 14/72 for DQ.
If you like their cod sandwich, try planning a trip to a city that has a Culver’s during Lent…that time of year they have a Walleye sandwich too, and it’s even better than the cod (which I also love). My other recommendation is to get their pot roast sandwich with no sauce on it…and then order a side cup of their cheddar cheese dip and pour that all over the sandwich…delicious! Also, I think their regular butter burger with cheese (I get it with just ketchup, lettuce and pickle) is much better than the deluxe…next time try the simpler version, lol.
I was Born and raised in WI. Hands down my favorite fast food is Culver’s. I’ve been in the Military for 8 years so I’ve had fast food from all over and nothing quite hits like Culver’s. The Pumpkin cheesecake concrete mixer they release in the fall is amazing. Also, The deluxe is not the best lol. Try the double bacon butter burger! The fries are hit or miss unfortunately.
I live in Minnesota and Culver’s is popular here with a lot of locations. My favorite item used to be their fried chicken. It was some of the best fried chicken around but they stopped making it. My favorite item now would be the walleye fish which is only available during lent. And you gotta have the onion rings with whatever you get.
I am an assistant manager at Culvers so I am jaded, but my defaults are the butterfly shrimp, north Atlantic cod, bacon deluxe double cheddar sub no mayo, and the Ruben. I will say though that the Salted Carmel pumpkin shake with the addition of whipped cream and cinnamon (seasonal flavor) is my favorite custard option.
I was a cook at Culver’s for 3 years. My favorite menu item is just a double butterburger with cheese, but I used to f around and use the biscuits from the old strawberry shortcake sundae and some gravy for breakfast during prep time. The amount of fun I had at that job was amazing, especially working in the kitchen. Oh the cod dinner is amazing too.
I love Culver’s! Their Cod fish sandwich and Harvest Veggie burger are my absolute faves. Along with the same sides that you got, onion rings and curds. I’m not much of a soda drinker, but I will occasionally get their signature recipe Culver’s Root Beer. It’s worth a try once, IMO! 👏🏻 Oh, and they have some killer Ranch too! 👌🏻
Central IL here, have a Culver’s 5 minutes away. It is extremely good every single time. Their chocolate shakes are the best I have ever had. And he is crazy about their deluxe butter burgers being ‘meh’. They are absolutely amazing… made to order, always fresh. That is why you have to wait with a number on your car because they always make your order with fresh ingredients. Top tier, up there with 5 guys imo
Michigan here…..I ate at Culver’s each of the past two days. Best items are the Mushroom and Swiss Butterburger, the Pot Roast sandwich or meal and the North Atlantic Cod sando or meal. Their fries are my favorite among all the fast food places. Their coleslaw is the best. Mash potatoes and gravy are money. And Culver’s house root beer is fabulous!
I can’t speak to all locations but all the ones I ate at in Colorado Springs were amazing. My favorite fast food burger I’ve ever had slightly edging out in-n-out. The cheese curds are amazing, onion rings are solid, great fish sandwich and I also enjoyed the pork tenderloin sandwich. The custard is to die for as well. I really miss this place.
As a Wisconsinite I have to say a few things. 1.) I’m surprised the butter burger was the most popular as most people I know that got to Culver’s usually get the bacon butter burger. And yeah it’s not the best burger, but remember this is a fast food burger. 2.) Yeah the thing is, if you want sauce like ranch, hot, or big, you have to ask for it when you order. They charge you for it as well. 3.) I remember a saying my ma once said about Culver’s when we got McDonald’s instead, that Culver’s isn’t car friendly. When I asked her what she meant and that it was. She replied, not for the driver.
We live in Hollywood,FL. They just 10:18 opened a Culver’s close to us. I have had the Fish and Chips twice and it was excellent. I did get the Patty Melt with Onion Rings. The Onion Rings was probably one of the best I have had. The Patty Melt was okay. I have not tried the burgers, cod sandwich or cheese curds. That is next on my list to try. I’m impressed with Culver’s
Seasonally, they have a Curderburger. It’s a Culver’s cheese burger but it has a bun size fried cheese curd on it. It’s so good, I dream about it. The patty melts are good too but the mushroom swiss version on sourdough or rye is delish! As far as ice cream goes, their turtle sundae is hard to beat. My only complaint is we spend 20 to 25 each eating there and I could sit down at a fancy restaurant for that. But the occasional go crazy at Culver’s is completely acceptable.
Been eating Culver’s for many years now. Their custard is great all around. Their fries and onion rings are very good, perhaps not the very best but good. Their butterburgers are very good. I am NOT a condiment person so just cheese on it are very flavorful. Their fish sandwich is perhaps the best you can get anywhere.
Collin Coun tx Texas here — Culvers expanded here in North Texas following in the footsteps of in n out and Portillos. TBH we likely won’t be going back. Burgers were dry cheese curds tasted like pre-frozen globs just thrown into a fryer. Custard was over-priced and lacking favor. Milkshake (not the full mixer) messed up my Mom’s stomach. The only reason we may consider going back is the fish filet. We are a fan of fish and chips, and Eric’s review of the fish sandwhich we may consider going back with caution. There is a severe lack of decent fish and chips places here in N. Texas. However we’d get the fish and chips platter with ice teas and thats it — IF we go back.
I worked at Culvers for 8 years. First of all your diet coke was a 5 out of 10 cuz they have only Pepsi products And so it was a diet Pepsi 🤮🤢. And in my opinion the mushroom and swiss is the best burger there if u like mushrooms. But I really enjoyed perusal your reaction to the diff foods. So good ❤️💜💙
The mixer melting quickly isn’t because he took too long. I stop getting the mixers because they melt really fast, even in winter. Get the sundae’s they don’t melt as fast. My favorite is the butterburger and cheese curds. Not getting the fries is not a biggy. They are good, but they don’t stand out. My favorite topping is the raspberry syrup and chocolate chips. I don’t remember if you have mentioned that you don’t like root beer, but if you do, then next time get the root beer and they have a diet root beer. Culver does their own root beer and it is soooo good.
We used to ditch MS and HS to run to our Culvers like 3 blocks away, we had the biggest HS in wisconsin at one point and like 15 security guards and they would drive to Culvers when we would go missing and we would all run across Green bay road which is one of the busiest in our city 😂. We would be like 15 deep just running
Mmmmmm yes!!!! Best onion rings!!! Best cheese curds but best when dipped in the cheese sauce! And I’m pretty sure they are yellow and white cheddar… butter burger, mushrooms and Swiss is my favorite or Deluxe but with bacon! And yes concrete mixer is like DQ Blizzard but Culver’s is frozen custard!!! Best flavor but you need to try cheese curds at Brat Stop Kenosha and even better custard is Kopp’s in the Milwaukee area!! Love your articles!!!
Hey Eric, I used to work at a Culver’s, and all of what you got were some of my favorites! In the article, you mentioned that the Deluxe was kinda average. It might be because the Deluxe does not come with ketchup and mustard. I don’t know if that would make a difference, but if you get the regular Butter Burger, you can customize it to get the toppings you want and it is cheaper. So, it’s like a win-win situation. I love your articles and keep up with those eating challenges!!
I like all that food you ate, but also there walleye dinner(seasonal) is my favorite. Also I like the pork Tenderloin sandwich. The Deluxe burger is somrthing they added. The regular single and double butter burger doesn’t have all that stuff on it. You can ask for any cndiment though. I like cheese and mustard only, so you try one with ranch?
Ofc I’ve had culver’s, I’m a manager at mine haha. Best fast food in the world imo. But I also don’t count us as fast food due to the way we actually prep food and everything, it’s all fresh. PS you have to ask for condiments like ketchup, mustard, ranch, ect…. Edit, it’s custard. Not ice cream. Custard is a smoother, creamier product that is made fresh and is absolutely never frozen. The only product we have that is put in the freezer is our pints which we use to let people try the flavor of the day after that day is over. Also, the butter burger is technically every burger. We butter our buns and that is where the name comes from. I always explain that to guests because to me butter burger makes no sense, and it’s just the buttered bun meat and cheese. No condiments unless asked for.
George’s chili or chili supreme is the BEST thing there. The cheese curds are meh and the burgers don’t come with any ketchup, mustard, etc. unless you request it. The deluxe is only mayo. You have to ask for “the works” or specify what you want. They also have fried onions, lettuce, etc. at no extra charge. Extra cheese (yes, I’m in Wisconsin), tomato and mushrooms are the only toppings that cost extra (other than bacon, of course).
Culvers ranch is so much better Try dipping buffalo wings in their tartar sauce Also try putting franks red hot from them and ranch on a burger I used to work there and I loved trying different things Also you can get buffalo or breaded chicken in your salad and substitute shredded lettuce for a salad which is great And spicy chicken sandwich is amazing
