A scenic route that takes about 40 minutes is available for walking, while taxis are readily available for quicker transport. A walking tour starting from the market square is around two miles (3 km) in length and takes 2-3 hours at a relaxed pace.
There is a Celebrity shuttle to Tallin, which is a short walk to the center from the port. The walking tour takes about 45 minutes and offers a great view of Helsinki from the shoreline.

Where does my cruise ship dock in Helsinki?
Port Location and Facilities. There are numerous locations that cruise ships can dock in Helsinki depending on their size. Most ships dock in either Hernasaari or West Harbour, both around 3km from the centre of the city. Most cruise lines operate a shuttle bus service that drops off centrally, usually close to Esplanade Park. Both Hernasaari and West Harbour have facilities, predominantly for souvenirs and tourist information.
Smaller ships can dock at either the South Harbour or Katajanokka, which are adjacent to the Market Square and walkable to the city centre. The Makasiiniterminaali at the South Harbour is approximately 500 metres to Market Square, whilst the viking Line terminal at Katajanokka is approximately 1km to Market Square.

They walk back to the ship. This is about 2,5 km walk, but all downhill and you can hit all the highlights of town along the way.
