Can You Use Magic Band Plus On Disney Cruise?

The MagicBand can be used as a DisneyBand on select Disney Cruise Line ships and itineraries, starting October 22, 2023. Eligible guests can place orders between 45 and 11 days. If you already have a MagicBand from Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort, you can use it during your cruise (for select ships and itineraries). Once your cruise is over, you can still use your MagicBand on visits to the theme parks.

You can link your MagicBand to your cruise at disneycruiseline.com. Previous versions of MagicBand are not supported on Disney Cruise Line ships at this time. However, you can use MagicBand as a DisneyBand on your cruise. To link your DisneyBand prior to your cruise, log in to your account at disneycruiseline.com.

Guests can purchase a DisneyBand for select sailings on the Disney Wish, the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Magic, the Disney Dream, and select voyages on board the Disney Wonder. DisneyBand and/or MagicBand will both work on select Disney Cruise sailings. Former versions of MagicBands will not work onboard Disney cruises.

Guests can also use one active DisneyBand if their child is registered for Youth Club Activities and has a MagicBand. Select sailings aboard the Disney Wish, the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Magic, the Disney Dream, and the Disney Wonder will support DisneyBand.

Do Disney hotel guests get MagicBands?

One of the benefits of staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel is being able to pre-order a MagicBand at a discounted price. To order your MagicBand, log into your My Disney Experience account. Under the My Disney Experience tab, select My Magic Bands & Cards. Crystal, the MagicBand and MagicBand+ options change often, so if you have your heart set on one make sure you place your order as soon as you select it. Likewise, if you don’t see the perfect band for you, try back later. You have some time before you need to place your order.

Purchases must be made 11 or more days before the first day of your reservation to have it shipped to your home. Purchases made 6-10 days prior will be shipped directly to your Disney Resort hotel and you can pick it up when you check in. Make sure you place your order at least 6 days prior so that you will be able to take advantage of the discount.

When your MagicBand/MagicBand+ arrives, it should be linked to your profile in your My Disney Experience account. If not, you can follow these instructions to link it to your My Disney Experience account. They are super simple!

Do regular MagicBands work on cruises?

On the other hand, the MagicBand+ includes all of its predecessor’s features with the addition of haptic and light functionality and interactive park activities.

Do you need a lanyard on a Disney cruise?

It’s definitely a good idea to keep your Key to the World cards in a safe, readily-accessible place like a lanyard around your neck and I’ve even purchased special protective cases for mine on board! From my personal experience and that of other folks I’ve sailed with in the past, your experience may vary as to whether it’ll be easy to scan through the case as it may depend on the overall thickness of the holder that your Key to the World card is in or even the reader that is used across the Disney Cruise Line fleet or in various Ports of Call. (Just be prepared in the event that you may need to remove it from time to time, as I’ve personally experienced some older scanning terminals that required cards to be swiped instead.) Unfortunately since I don’t know where you’ve purchased your cases from we can’t know for sure until you use them and test it out yourself, but on the bright side at least you’ll know for your next voyage!

Can I use my Disney Rewards on a Disney cruise?

Once you are onboard the ship, head to the Guest Services Desk. The cast members there will be able to help you apply your Disney Rewards Dollars from your Disney Rewards Redemption Card to your charges on the ship. These will include your Port Adventures as well as any other onboard purchases, such as for massages and other relaxing services atSenses Spa & Salon or souvenir and other items at the amazing onboard shops.
