Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCCL) now allows passengers to bring flowers on board for every cruise, but they cannot take them off again. Flowers and plants are only permitted on board if ordered through Carnival’s Fun Shops or delivered by a florist in the port of embarkation. They can be brought on board in LA and Hawaii, but restricted leis apply.
Canada will not accept plants, meats, or fruits taken off ship that were not obtained in Canada, and it is likely the same in the US. However, RCCL officially allows passengers to bring flowers on board, but a security measure is in place. Disney does not allow flowers on board their ships, and the flowers need to be purchased from them.
Cruise passengers agree that flowers and plants enhance a feeling of luxury and comfort. Dianthus supplies flowers to enhance this feeling. However, candles, incense, fresh flowers, and balloons must be left at home. Policies regarding flowers will be instituted and strictly enforced, allowing them to consist only of fire retardant materials and only be placed on the stateroom door.
In summary, Royal Caribbean Cruises allows passengers to bring flowers on board, but they cannot take them off the ship at any port or the end of the cruise. It is important to bring a card from home to show your love for your loved ones during your cruise.
