Can You Sneak Alcohol On A Royal Caribbean Cruise?

Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will be returned at the end of the voyage provided they are in the original sealed package. Royal Caribbean’s policy prohibits passengers from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard their ships, but there are several ways to sneak alcohol into the ship.

One popular method is using shampoo bottles. Before the cruise, guests can buy two bottles of wine and fill them with their favorite spirits. Alcohol is sold on Royal Caribbean ships at duty-free prices at numerous bars on each ship. However, sneaking alcohol on board is against the cruise line’s alcohol policy and could lead to serious consequences. If caught smuggling booze on board, port and cruise security staff have the right to remove the alcohol from the ship.

Guests may bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items, but they must not exceed 12 ounces. Carnival does allow each person to bring one bottle of wine and champagne onboard as long as it is carried on. Anything else is subject to being confiscated by port and cruise security staff.

In summary, sneaking alcohol on a cruise is strictly prohibited by most major cruise lines, but there are several ways to sneak alcohol into the ship.
