This 2017 E84 Enclosed bridge boat was built by a very knowledgeable and multiple(le Horizon owner that checked every box.
Many years ago I worked in the engineering department for a harbour board. Among other things, I helped design marinas etc. I became good friends with the harbour pilot. I used to talk about the boats I like in the marinas. He called every one of them gin-palaces. Pointed out that most of them were built for looks, not sea-worthieness. Anything other than smooth conditions, they were only good for sitting in the marina. He showed me the boats that could seriously cope with rough conditions. Completely changed my view on boats. My favorite ended up being a 65ft steel fishing boat that had been converted to a luxury yacht for the boatyards owner. That thing could handle just about any conditions and had a decent range.
Wow this is one of your best boat reviews ever & Elise just adds to the whole experience with her wealth of knowledge. A beautiful yacht that seems to have it all. Thanks Victoria & Rico for a job well done even though Halloween 👻 2021 is well past 😩 & 2022 has just got started. You guys are the best.🙏👍.
If you need your yacht to be a Lamborghini on water, this is not for you. If you want pure comfort and enjoyment, here you go. This is 1 of my favorite beach club/crew areas. I love the transformer on this, how brilliant. Thanks for bringing this to us, and thanks for including Elise. Love the knowledge and insight.
Amazed at the amount of space/”beamyness” of this ship. The way they did the outdoor areas, with that hot tub up front and kind of tucked out of the way is super smart. Seen other yatchs where the hot tub is smack in the middle of the bridge deck or fly deck, takes up a ton of room. Love that they made the crew quarters NICE, Victoria didn’t mention it but that “beach club” is obviously the crew lounge when the ship is underway, ingenious dual purpose use of the space. Also the owner has impeccable tastes as far as the décor, it feels like a home and has a certain timeless look to it. Some of these huge yachts look like a dang pachinko parlor inside with all the crystal, gold, glitz, everything must be shiny/reflective, the questionable art pieces, etc.
I watch your articles and dream, but this is a really beautiful yacht and yes moored of some Caribbean Island in the warm evenings dining would be the ultimate experience. Elise is a great salesperson. And you two are just enthusiastic in your presentation. Thank you I think a nautical term is, have fair winds 🙏
The Horizon FD range, like the FD78 & FD87 (redesignated FD80 & FD92 respectively), are ********/********!!! (This is me being unable to find a word, or the words that can truly express how I feel about these truly remarkable vessels). As You know my health situation, means I get to watch many many walkthrough articles. Which has allowed me, in my 3 to 4 short years of perusal Superyacht Walkthrough articles. To have an idea of my favourite types of vessels, in each class of build etc. I don’t think I’ve ever chosen a total fav, as too many too list, and even then too many to list in each classification. However after seeing this FD92 (Is it the 2nd, or 3rd Horizon FD92 built?), I’m sure this is a perfect contender for my absolute favourite. Although still too many to list lol. I’m not 100% sure, did yourselves on Nautistyles, or Nick on Aquaholic, mention during the first Horizon FD87/FD92 walkthrough article, that there was the option to add a flybridge, if an owner wanted one, (not that it needed it). Now upon seeing a Flybridge incorporated in the design. Just proves how remarkable Horizon are, at innovative design, and unique styling techniques, and so so much more. Nothing shows this more, in my humble opinion, than the innotive way that Horizon has placed the owners hot tub to oneside. Which seems to work very well, and doesn’t impede the Bridges view. The external storage is “Awesome”, so are the extra bar areas. I’m a great fan of those side doors, that protect the aft cockpit from strong winds, or heavy sea spray, whilst in heavy seas.
A few things… -Halloween??!? Wow, you guys have been holding out on us. One a week isn’t enough, we need more NautiStyles! -You need a shower equation to rate each yacht, something like: staterooms times en suites plus persons-per shower divided by the length of the yacht (in meters) minus wet-heads equals shower rating. Or something that makes actual sense… -Love Rico’s Greg Knoll tribute shorts, long live the Bull, the king of big wave surfing!
I like this one very much! Very livable and comfortable. Something I always wonder about is why do these yachts always have permanent made bed areas that take up so much room? Why not some Murphy bed setups and reconfigure living areas instead of mattresses taking up so much space? You could add living space to the crew quarters that way. Lol, I guess I am saying I would design my yacht differently.
HI Victoria and Rico!!! Just another well thought out lady for sure!!! And, I, like Rico, love the technical, nerdy-geeky side of Yachts!! Whoever the tech/mechanic for this yacht is, I want to make a comment or really A COMPLIMENT with regards to the “P-touch” tape and “blue masking” tape used as indicators for “what goes where!” I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but the best way of knowing how well someone does their job, or how much they really care, is the “little details!!” YES, “the devil is in the details,” and having said that, notice that all those P-touch and Blue tape indicators have a “little removal tab” included, as it makes for easy removal!! Also note, that is something that the person who did the labeling 🏷 did themselves, NO… you cannot buy P-touch or Blue tape with “removal tabs” already made!!! Soooo, to the person that did that… Well done, You!!! …… 🤪🤣🤭 ….. “I only want 🤏🏼 just a little more space on the yacht…” says the new owner… Why… 🙄 … “ummmm…., OK, SO MY THERAPIST THINKS I HAVE TWO-FOOTITIS!!” “Funny thing though, I don’t notice it, even a little bit!!” 😅 Great article again you guys!! The outtakes almost ALWAYS kill me…!!! Keep em’ coming!!! ANYWAY, KEEP ON KEEPING ON BROTHER AND SISTER WATERIDERS!!!!!!!!!! PEACE!!!!!!!!!!🤘🏼
A very nice boat. I loved the owners interior choices. I really liked that center hydraulic platform in the larger hydraulic platform. With that you won’t even need a passaral. You can use that for stern to berthing. Not to mention. It’s great for dive activities. The only negative I had was the insane number of pillows on the sectional. I really liked the crew quarters. So many yachts, the crew quarters look like they were done as cheaply as they could. Owners spend millions building the boat and cheap out on crew quarters. Tired of seeing white formica with a wood trim for cramped crew quarters.
Victoria joked about a 80″ Garmin, have you guys watched the Dashew Offshore you tube website and seen their FPB articles? In the final rendition of their helm area they basically have 80ish touch screens and nothing else there, its so cool. If you guys haven’t seen their articles you will love them, Rico will geek out on the technical stuff just like I did!
Hiya Vico, a wind storm outside at the moment, okay, all day, and a cold one too. Now, why would you hide V in the master wardrobe? Let alone three of her in there? Wonderful to have Elise back, she is such a pleasant imparter of knowledge about the boat. She knows what and where everything is, even the Rico friendly parts. Or should that be, especially the Rico parts? A great yacht beautifully appointed by Horizon and the owner, or his wife? So many places where you can change for owners choice, often the exception, on Horizon more the rule. Thank you all for this wonderful tour, and Horizon, Elise needs a raise if you want to keep her long term, and she is so worth keeping. Stay safe, Steve…
the exterior shape of this boat is not what i call “beautiful”. but the layout is really smart, except there is no mess for the crew. and the work on it looks really serious ! i don’t have the money for such boat, of course, but if i would have… no : with 10 M$, i would buy an old one, but with more room for the crew.
Nice boat. I wished the owner had a different couch than the white couch on the main deck. The couch is very 80’s looking style. That is what I call it with the round end arm rests. Modem couches have a more squared off end. For me I would use a solid white or a less veiny Caesarstone countertops in the kitchen and baths with the same surface color matching throughout the whole boat. Just a few changes I would make if I had this boat.
we say in france, every taste is in the nature: i hate the interior design, kind oldy (i guess it is the owner taste);, but the boat is great, i think it is nice to have the galley close to the ‘living room, instead of having ‘a show kitchen in the living room’ + a total separate galley (but smaller)
In line with the “how yachts work” series, how do you keep water in the pools and spas on a yacht with waves / while at sea? A lot of them seem to keep very high water levels. Surely you don’t drain them, unless perhaps there is some in hull reservoir tank?? Some of the pools look to large for a watertight cover / lid 🤔
I do like many of the features but I dislike the use of vinyl. IT tents of off gas some nasties including vinyl oxide. I like ships that use hard surfaces such as a glass or even like the marine varnish finish used in the bering 77. Its a shame the distance is so limited. I would have borrowed some space and removed a lot of the “overkill” on the enormous bathrooms, the beach club etc and just put in more fuel tanks. Its a fiberglass hull so it is going to be lighter than a steel hull. So this is a semi full displacement hull ? How does it cope in big weather ? Sorry I am a bit hooked on trawler yachts 🙂 Ill catch you on Patreon and continue this there.
Rico, I wonder if a vessel like this can also effectively operate on a single of these engines to stretch fuel range similar to the way it was explained when you were operating the Bering 77 to save fuel and run time?? Do you know anything about that with the Horizon yachts like this one?? Would love to know. This thing is probably my favorite yet aside from the Bering vessels. 😎
Excellent yacht and article, thank you so much ! One thing – may i ask how tall the Nauti-Girl is (i’m sorry, i missed your name 😊), once for reference to the room heights, but also cause i always thought you were average in height, like 5’7 ?, but you look really tall here. Or is Elise just kinda short ? 🙂 Thanks again !
Very nice 👍…. princess yachts.. marine projects….I worked on..HM.royal navy Plymouth Dockyard..boat house shipwright .. summerean casings and so on…. anyway the stuff you can get today is totally unreal amazing things…money to order of course…big money…thanks guys I totally loved this article…..oh Elise…is a bit of alright hahahaha 🤪..mmm very nice I would.. buy .. the boat if she comes with it .. hahahaha 😂.say hi when you see her again.. again hahah…ok take care people…😊🇬🇧🇯🇪…. jersey website Islands.. castle quay marina…x
As much as I like the layout and decor of this boat, I could never get past having to look at her as I walked down the dock. New building materials allow designers to maintain strength while opening up the living spaces, however all that interior space comes at a real penalty to aesthetics, at least to the eyes of this old guy.
very functional yacht. And another Mike listing. Mike is out here hustling. Just change his name to Rick Ross already. This is a nice boat and seems bigger than 80′ in some respects. A crew of 4 would be overkill on a boat this size. it is beautifully done. If I bought this boat, I would keep that skull on the back. That’s some Halloween decorations right there. I can only imagine that lit up at night in the Exumas and what people on the other yachts thought. I remember when I heard Kurt had the Trinity built bridge kissing yacht Rockstar. Definitely not the same owner right?
