Why Does My Sim Refuse To Snorkel?

The user is experiencing issues with their Sims 3 Island Paradise pack, which allows them to learn the Scuba Diving skill. They are unable to snorkel or dive in certain spots and are unable to interact with the ocean or ponds. To resolve this issue, they have tried reseting their Sims using the ResetSim FirstName LastName cheat.

The Sims 3 Island Paradise Expansion Pack introduces the Scuba Diving skill, which allows Sims to snorkel and deploy scuba gear to use underwater dive spots. To re-set a cave, go under water at the location of the cave, use moveobjects on it, and then pick up the cave and replace it.

The user’s dreams of getting a mermaid in Sims 3 Island Paradise were quickly dashed when they tried to make their sim snorkel. They are unable to interact with the ocean or ponds, only pools. A patch for Windows has been suggested to fix this issue, but no solution has been found.

The user also mentions that Mermaids cannot snorkel, leading to job performance and pay loss. They suggest uninstalling previous mods and clearing caches. If the problem was with their sim suddenly surfacing on the beach when trying to explore an underwater cave, it is a known bug.

To resolve this issue, the user recommends temporarily removing all mods and CC, clearing caches, and clearing the Sims inventory. It is important to note that dive equipment is not physical objects for the Sims inventory and cannot be traded or shared by family members.
