The 50-meter explorer yacht Plan B, originally built as a survey vessel for the Royal Australian Navy and known as HMAS Flinders, is now available for sale. Owned by Patokh Chodiev, a billionaire businessman and philanthropist from Uzbekistan, the yacht was commissioned in 1973 and decommissioned in 1998. It was originally named for Matthew Flinders (1774-1814) and was an oceanographic survey ship. Chodiev is one of the co-founders of the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation, active in mining and energy. The yacht was delivered to her owner in 2018.
The 73.15m240 motor yacht Plan B was built by ADM Shipyards in the United Arab Emirates at their Kiel shipyard and was delivered to her owner in 2018. The 49.07-metre H.M.A. Naval Dockyard superyacht Plan B was sold with Merle A. Wood of Merle Wood Associates representing the buyer and Will Christie of Christie Yachts.
