Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise, starting on December 10, 2023, will take passengers on a 274-night journey around the world from December 10, 2023, to September 10, 2024. The cruise will visit all seven continents and 65 countries, including America, Antarctica, Asia, the South Pacific, and the Capitals of Culture. The cruise will offer passengers the opportunity to explore every corner of the globe, from Machu Pichu in Peru to The Taj Mahal in India.
The cruise will also include a leg in Australia and Asia, starting in February 2024. The Ultimate Asia Pacific Cruise will begin in February 2024, offering travelers the opportunity to venture miles from ordinary in Australia and Asia. The Serenade of the Seas ship, currently sailing on the Ultimate World Cruise, was set to transit through the Suez Canal in May.
There are no current full Ultimate World Cruises at the moment, but the cruise is set to continue sailing on the Serenade of the Seas ship. The Ultimate Asia Pacific leg will sail around Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, and India, encompassing sites like the Great Barrier Reef.
For the past five months, Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise, the nine-month voyage aboard the Serenade of the Seas, has been the most epic world cruise ever to set sail.

… important things to know about the cruise, and all of the extra perks that you get for the Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise!
This is really weird because I thought Royal Caribbean had a policy where if you booked a ticket with them, and then those tickets went on sale (because you bought yours ahead of time) then they would allow you to refund the ticket and buy one of the sale price tickets. They are destroying their reputation, which they need to stay in business. I don’t think a few influencers are going to fix this. They need real PR, or something to pull themselves out of this nosedive. And I always heard that adding a third person to your room cost you next to nothing, because the room is already taken and they can make money from the drinks package and so forth.
As a private person, i would be SO uncomfortable being on a cruise that was actively trying to have more internet scandals and publicity, encouraging more tiktok clowns to run around filming everything and potentially me in the background. I’d hate to be on vacation worried about fake internet drama unfolding around me or worse, getting involved in it against my will!!! So if i was a passenger i’d be pissed hearing about the cruise company doing what they did. If a brand and media personality want to work out some kind of sponsorship, that is their right but they should do that on a one on one basis. The company putting out a casting call is really scummy and pathetic, and so are the influencers trying to get it, as opposed to letting your fame speak for itself.
9:40 …Well, clearly the boredom must be getting to them if there’s seriously a dude getting mad that people are walking past his bus seat while he’s still munching on his spring roll because he thinks that it’s bad etiquette to leave before him or something??? More like it’s bad etiquette to grab someone’s pant belt to stop them from leaving before you do lol.
I think when you first brought up the idea of going on the cruise, it sounded like it would be fun content. But the more you continued to cover it, the more it sounded like it would not only not be very fun for you, but probably also not very safe. I’m glad so much of your audience cares more about you being happy and alive.
The towel return comment I assume is because when you do a back to back cruise you are treated a little like you’re a new passenger. So like you can leave stuff in your cabin but you might have to get off the boat, go through customs, get a new cruise card, return any linens, etc. While you technically never leave it can be disruptive and take a good chunk of a day you otherwise might have used to explore a port or relax. I think the towel comment is a reflection that people thought they paid for a continuous 9 month cruise but they’re being treated like they’re just taking a bunch of cruises back to back and that might just be one aspect of that. Yes it’s a first world problem, but I can understand the frustration of being sold one thing and it turning into something else which seems to be the overarching narrative of this whole cruise.
There’s a reason why groups of people who are going to live together in isolation receive extensive psychological testing. Such situations can bring out deeply buried antisocial traits. That’s exactly what’s happened on this ship. In fact, the problem has been exacerbated by the clearly delineated pecking order engendered by the preferential treatment from the cruise line. The situation has been exacerbated by the frequent cancellation of trips off the ship which usually serve as a great stress breaker. Of course, this is, to a lesser degree, an issue on all cruises but they are shorter and don’t generally have such a clear social strata.
On the influencer hire thing I think if it had been something that was put out before the cruise started and they picked maybe two influencers for each of the four original sections that would have been accepted that would be the norm. This smacked of a desperate attempt by Royal Caribbean to put themselves in a good light to combat the negative publicity and that was never going to go down well.
I swear to god rich people are not psychologically sound. Because I dare a mf to put their hands on me over some miss manners crap because it will not go the way he thinks it will. The entitlement these people have (usually while calling the poor entitled for wanting to pay rent AND eat). Disgusting.
Honestly, I am empathy-ed out when it comes to this stuff. New people who are still choosing to buy and go on this cruise… You know what you’re signing up for. It’s a very public shit show. If you still choose to buy a ticket after knowing all of this, that’s kind of your own poor choice. If you already got a ticket before it started or you can’t get out of your reservation, sure, but the fact that people are still giving this company money knowing how terrible it is is so exhausting.
I personally think the hired influencer thing reeked of payment for good reviews as a desperate attempt to save face over everything that’s coming out. I can see why it put a lot of people already on the cruise and making content off and I think it was good they addressed it with them. If it had been an offer before the cruise started I don’t think it would have bothered anyone because that is something that happens in the cruise industry. I follow a few cruise content makers (not world cruise people) and the good ones are open about when they’ve been compensated for a trip or why they don’t accept compensation because it often breeds special treatment and means they can’t realistically review the cruise experience of an average guest. They just wanted positive PR but it’s too little too late and it’s kind of a slap in the face that they even attempted that.
See? This is exactly why I can’t do cruises. The second that strange man grabbed me by my belt and DEMANDED that I sit and wait for him to finish eating because he was better and richer than me….he’d be eating that spring roll off the floor. No way in hell would I let some stranger fake-rich AH put his hands anywhere near me.
The thing that is most wild to me is that world cruises aren’t new. I’ve been dreaming about going on one and looking up fares/plans etc for decades at this point. I don’t understand why this one is so unique. I’m not surprised it’s a shitshow because usually the worst part of any cruise is (some of) the other passengers, I’m just surprised it keeps getting sold as some new, unique idea that’s never been done.
Looking at the dock records for Hong Kong & Serenade Of The Seas was indeed in port with another ship called Mein Schiff 5 (owned by TUI Cruises, a German brand). Both ships were departing around the same time so it is likely that Mein Schiff manoeuvred in a way that caused Serenade to force an emergency procedure.
About the cruise line paying people to come on board and make content. I know it’s normal for brands to pay people to promote stuff but I feel like this is a little different because they want to do it as a reaction to it being such a crap shoot. It’s not just trying to get the word out. Its to try to flood the Internet with good reviews/ cover up the bad ones.
Taking down the listing is probably the only logical thing in this situation cause think about it. If they started paying people already on the cruise making content it would maybe set a bad example that you can just go on a trip/go to a hotel/any kind of organized event, manufacture drama/news and then demand to be paid for the coverage. That would go bad very fast.
ngl i can absolutely believe that most of the people on the ship are just entitled and out of touch enough to be wildly racist or lay hands on others for percieved “bad etiquette” cause a good chunk of people paid the full cruise price and still have plenty in their accounts so its honestly not shocking
I’m in my 30’s and I was raised to not get up from the dining table until everyone is finished eating but the only person who would be allowed to tell me to sit back down until everyone is finished eating is my mother. Notice I said TABLE…. I’m not going to just sit on a bus if I’m finished and asked by staff to get off just because someone else is still eating and doesn’t want me to get off.
Shit goes wrong on ships all the time, it’s just that usually your on it for like a week or 2 so only a few things go wrong… After months it would be pretty normal to go through so much…and especially with everyone talking about it and sharing stories, when most people go on cruises they don’t hear about what happened to another passenger… But also they might just be incompetent.. Some cruises operate more smoothly than others
I’m proud of us for polling No on Callum going, when he said he gets travel sick, I really didn’t want him to be miserable! I have a chronic severe GI issue, I’m nauseous like 75% of the time…I’d never wish that on anyone! He didn’t seem particularly excited by the idea, I’m so glad everyone put his well being over all else, plus I think the content is just as good with him happy at home
It’s like a girl finding out her bf cheated and instead of blaming the bf she goes after the other girl. Yeah, the situation might suck but it’s not the other girls (the other cruisers) fault. It’s the bf’s (the cruise itself) fault. Plus, you can’t really change it and you’ve spent a ton of money, so enjoy your time on the cruise..don’t waste your time, money, energy, and sanity being upset with other cruisers.
Thank you friend for doing these articles. You’ve got a wonderful personality. I could see hanging out with you! Keep them coming you’ve got my full support!! You make me laugh, you make me think🤔💭🧐😊 I really do appreciate your time. I know it takes a lot to do these I to personally do social media. Thanks again friend you’re the best looking forward to the next one. Ha ha I can’t wait. 🤣😆👏🏽👏🏽👊👊💯💯
I do think it’s kinda wild to expect a company to pay for what they’ve already been getting for free. Also lets not forget that those people who made all these tiktoks weren’t doing it as some public service, but because they got something out of the deal too. The cruise shouldn’t have offered the new influencer package but I don’t know what either side expected
This sounds like a nightmare! Especially those traveling with kids! I have traveled with my 10-month-old twins and a three-year-old from San Diego to the Turks and it ain’t easy! That was a 10 day trip. I cannot even imagine doing what this family is doing with little kids. I wouldn’t do it! In theory vacation, sound great with the family, creating memories, all of that. In reality, it is VERY stressful especially when they’re little.😂 This poor family. 😩
I have been travelling for about 7,5 months at this point, through Australia and some Asian countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan and currently Korea). The amount of racist comments I have heard throughout these months is disgusting. I don’t like targeting a whole group because of individuals (I mean I belong to the group), so many white people… A lot of young (18-21 year olds) people, but also soooo many adults. It makes my skin crawl when people travel to another country and just expect everyone to follow their ways. And them being rude for no reason at all, most of the time them being in the wrong as well. It’s crazy. I can imagine that being on a cruise this is going to multiply since they all feel like it’s their turf …
I’d literally never be caught dead on a cruise ship let along the ocean. The amount of stories I hear about people accidently falling overboard and being forgotten is a terrifying to me. Let alone I have major Thalassophobia so nah Ima stick to being a land dweller with the occasional flights now and then. We were not built for the ocean.
I think if you got on that ship, it would just be miserable. Nothing good has happened, all the people are elitist, they haven’t even gotten off the boat yet it seems like. Feels like a huge waste of money to me. It doesn’t seem fun or enjoyable and all the people suck; that’s a long time to be trapped like that, i think you’re wise not to go & we love your articles regardless 😘
The Great Pool debate on who caused the fight 😂😂😂. Then the spring roll story really did me in. Too bad the guy telling the story didn’t realize he was assaulted the second that other man put his hands on his belt pulling him back. He could have had him removed from the ship for zero tolerance but with all the other fights so far, they apparently aren’t using zero tolerance.
rich folks/celebs and big influencers get free stuff all the time when theyre the ones who could afford it the most and this one would have been for content exchange not just funsies.Dont get why theyd take that opportunity from content creators when they should be mad at the cruise ripping people off and the lowkey segregation going on
How is this Cruz company not really embarrassed the bad way they treat all their guests and all the cancellations to the different spots without real notice. How bad is their scheduling of their next cruise for the next guests. More bad things than good for that company 😞😞. Hope they learn to treat their guests a lot better cause that’s their money coming from. I think they forgot
This is just a scam at this point. It honestly seems like they started this cruise without all the money they needed and expected tiktok to make up for those expenses. Plus the fact there is no standard pricing its like they are charging people more money because they know they can pay and/ or the viral exposure will make people agree to those prices. It’s so stupid.
I can understand the cruisers being upset they’re giving away trips to people, but them Bullying royal Caribbean into taking the chance to go on a cruise for free is gatekeeping at its biggest. like, ok you could have had them give you some extra perks, credits, something for how many views you’ve gotten, it’s a sliding scale, but saying “NO, NO ONE GETS IT” is pinnacle member behavior, that’s so crappy of them!
I’m glad you’re NOT going on this cruise. Especially since we JUST had a major boating accident in the US, where the ship (which, according to reports, had been having random losses of power and/or engines stalling while being loaded at the dock) had a sudden power/engine failure while leaving a major port. The ship crashed into, and took down, a large part of the Key Bridge (named after the poet who wrote “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Francis Scott Key) in Maryland. They’re preparing to continue underwater “Recovery Operations” – retrieving the remains of several roadworkers, likely still trapped in their work trucks – now that they’ve gotten some of the bridge wreckage out of the way. I know, I know, completely different scenarios, but still… A loss of engine power in a car doesn’t leave the driver completely incapable of maneuvering, as is the case on a seafaring vessel. Royal Caribbean has been botching so much of this cruise, I can’t help but wonder about their upkeep of the ship’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. If almost everything else has gone wrong, what else COULD go wrong? (I just jinxed them, didn’t I?) 10:25 – W. T. Actual. F.! Who died and made that person de facto Dictator of Earth?
I don’t know why, I don’t consume TikTok, I don’t care about the lives of a bunch of rich and entitled people whining, I don’t care about cruises in general, the only one that would instantly get me interested is 70000 tons of Metal, but for some reason this World Cruise thing really got my interest and I’m borderline devastated that the playlist ends with this article.
This intro gets better every time and I am fully here for the dedication Callum puts into it. On yersel son! Damn side note upset you used a poll to decide on being part of this moment it the horror of our current pop culture history. You’d have been a hit and blown up. That’s a shame, didn’t realise 1, about the poll or 2, that that’s how you make your decisions Not Stacey Dooley that’s for sure, she should do this, she does real investigative journalism, for now we have your amazing intros to regurgitated tik tok articles Thank you! 😊
Tbh other cruise lines also do world cruises (though shorter, Cunard’s is around 4 months long I think) so I don’t know why Royal Carribbean is fucking up so hard with this? Maybe it’s a mismatch of expectations but I think it’s just RC being shit considering they’ve gotten so much shit in the first half of this cruise (which is around the same length as Cunard’s)? But even frequent cruisers are unhappy about this shit, so it can’t just be people new to this lifestyle who are mad.
I’m sorry, but I have been an avid cruiser for years (minus Pandemic) I find this very hard to believe other than these tik tok people having all this drama !! The guy with the egg roll thing was hilarious !! IF someone actually did this, the man laid hands on me he would be done with his egg roll because he would have NO TEETH !! Ignorant people absolutely all ships have some, but they seem to have the world quota 😂
People being pissed that they posted “brand deal” type thing is just stupid. If they go to Disney and Disney pays someone to go and review are they going to be pissed about it too? It’s just stupid. They just mad/ jealous they aren’t getting paid. 🙄 Plenty of creators do something then others get paid to go. If you’re that jealous over it instead of talking shit then apply. You’re already there you might could have worked something out or if not o well they arent gonna pay for everyone no matter what its just stupid! The whole cruise is stupid lol I’ve never heard good things about this company before now. Smh
I think the only content creator that can survive this cruise if they visit is either one that RC personally brought into the ship to make them look good. So those people will be protected like hell for the good image. OR they are one of the highest pinnacle members that no one can touch them and they can do what ever they want. Everyone else is going to be attacked for the most stupid reason. Like that spring roll nonsense.
Okay. Fine. Markie, I’m throwing down about Royal Cuddibian right here right now. First, I will tell you that I am not a proponent of cancel culture, but this awful company has canceled an entire culture. Bear with me. US television networks have had pronunciation dictionaries for many many decades in order to align their newscasts. Sometime in the late 1990’s or early 2000’s, Royal Cuddibian was on a growth tangent and decided to begin massive advertising campaigns. They also wanted to change global English pronunciation of the word ‘Caribbean’ to ‘Cuddibian’ because they thought it sounded more upscale and ‘English’ (so ‘Royal’). The company offered huge advertising contracts- but only if the networks agreed to change their global pronunciation to ‘Cuddibian’ from Caribbean. Here’s the thing- the sea and surrounding Islands are named after the Carib, a tribe native to Northern South America that also inhabited many of the windward Islands. Carib is pronounced very like the word ‘carob’. ‘Caribbean’ means ‘the place of the Carib. The tribe’s name has never been pronounced ‘Cuddib’ and until this horribly successful capitalist venture into canceling the entire name of an indigenous people, no one in the UK, the Caribbean OR the USA EVER pronounced it that way. This is a smart steamroller of a company. It has become apparent from your marvelous ‘updates’ that their customers let them get away with manipulations and policies that serve only the company and are somehow grateful for the abuse of their trust….
This is this generations Love Boat/Gilligan’s Island. 😂 Srsly tho, I feel like this was false advertising on the part of the cruise company and I wonder if the passengers can bring suit against the company. Like, this is showing how things could go down if we do space travel with civilians, so it’s kinda of a case study in how things can devolve. I wonder if psychologists and sociologists are following this with bated breath. You have control groups in other cruises so it’s a fascinating thing to study. I get the feeling everyone is going to have a book to write after this. This was so poorly planned by the cruise and it just keeps getting worse. I feel like they should refund money and let ppl go home, cuz they are likely sticking it out because of sunk cost fallacy and FOMO. This is a hot mess.
This is a complete crap show lol, I feel bad for all the decent people on this cruise. But also, just personal, but if some random person grabbed me and told me I couldn’t get off a bus until they were done eating, they’d have half a second to unhand me or their hand is gonna be broken. Chiropractor is way more patient than I am with that kind of BS lol XD
From an objective standpoint, yes, it does make sense that Royal Caribbean would want to advertise the cruise and offer money to influencers that can– theoretically– spread positivity and attention for them. However, from a subjective standpoint… That’s just a load. Plain and simple 😂 The influencers and content creators that were already on board making that content for Rotal Caribbean deserve to be furious, and they deserve to be paid in the stead of the extra people they would have had to hire anyways. It’s like offering to pay a new intern twice the salary that you already pay a sales rep that’s been working for half a year. But side note, the spring roll guy??? I swear to God these folks just can’t be real 😭 Who grabs someone by the belt when they’re just trying to get off the bus?? The answer is probably “A Pinnacle Member” but every new negative interaction makes me go “Oh my God, what fresh hell is this?” It’s a good thing you’re not going on the cruise, I can’t imagine the horrors you would have to endure first hand
As someone who voted for you to NOT go on the cruise, I’m relieved you’ve decided not to. The content isn’t worth your wellbeing. 😬 Edit: The springroll thing is NUTS. If some stranger grabbed me by my belt and tried to force me to sit behind them and wait for them to get off the bus first, there’d be an issue, to put it mildly. How dare someone do that! 😡
I feel like y’all don’t realize how common a lot of this stuff is on cruises, but they are always much shorter and aren’t filled with a bunch of influencers documenting every argument or minor event that happens. There are some crummy practices that RC is doing with regard to pricing, but most of the rest of the stuff you report on is pretty normal — including there being special events for different tiers of consumers.
I’m gonna be honest, I never really understood the anger at the whole “invite TikTokers on the ship” thing. To me, that’s like someone who writes a negative Yelp review for a business then getting upset that the business hires a marketing/PR team; that’s just how businesses work and RC is still a business – of course they’d want to at least attempt damage control given how badly the narrative of the cruise is skewed against them at this point. If you’re mad because you personally paid to be on the cruise…well, to be completely blunt, I don’t have much sympathy in that regard either since ultimately you’re the one who decided that the idea of the cruise was worth the money. No one (as far as we know) was ever forced to buy a ticket. To me, the whole thing somewhat ironically felt on a par with the ridiculousness of the whole “Pinnacle vs non-Pinnacle (vs second class Pinnacle)” fiasco.
No one likes to be the putz. They THOUGHT they were getting in on a fantastic deal early and strutted around, cock-of-the-walk style UNTIL a better deal was struck down the road. Of course it’s an option the cruise ship never thought they would have to give. They too thought it was a highly desirable cruise deal. But it wasn’t. So they had to cut their losses and offer something, ANYTHING to save their bottom line. Too bad, so sad for Karen and Darren! This is not an outrageous act on behalf of the cruise ship. They need to all enjoy their trip and stop trying to assert their superior right to a better experience. Honestly, they ALL deserve each other.
I know its an expensive trip of a lifetime but was that dude really CRYING over a canceled trip?!?!? If that was the only thing in life I had to cry about life would be a dream. Not many people can afford to take 2 months off of work to go on a vacation. Just enjoy a staycation and count your blessings for your beautiful family. You can always fight the cruise line for a refund
That dude crying,…really. ffs rich ppl problems. That’s not letting the kids down. Sure it be nice to go to the cancelled destinations but They are kids unless they are spoilt I’m sure just being on a cruise would be bloody awesome. Seeing that guy so upset over it wow bro, today’s living crisis for so many..
