Santo Domingo, the largest city and capital of the Dominican Republic, is home to two ports situated at the mouth of the River Ozama. Most cruise ships dock at Puerto de Santo Domingo on the east side of the river. The port is suited for both turnaround and transit, and is located at the mouth of the marine entrance to the city.
The Sans Souci Zone or Don Diego quay is where most cruise ships dock, just south of the Colonial Zone. Can you walk from the cruise port in St Maarten?
Cruise Port Guide St. Martin – Philipsburg: docked or tender. The cruise dock in St. Maarten is called the A.C. Wathey Pier. It is a large cruise facility that can accomodate several mega cruise ships. At St. Martin’s cruise terminal you will find international and local shops, tourist information, cafe’s and restaurants and a (water)taxi service.The cruise dock is about 1,5 km or 1 mile from the city centre of Philipsburg. You are free to walk, but you can also take the water taxi or a regular taxi.

Taxi Services to St. Maarten Cruise Port. Taxi services are the easiest way to travel to and from the St. Maarten Cruise Terminal. Taxis and water taxis are located a short walk from the cruise pier and take passengers to Philipsburg by water taxi or all over the island by normal taxi.
