The port is located in a harbor bay, approximately 4 km (2,5 mi) from the Old City and has a total of 5 berths (docking piers). The Port of Cartagena de Indias is located about 4 km from the old city and offers 6 docking sites in an industrial environment. The area around the port is not inviting.
