The Panama City cruise ship port, also known as the Fuerte Amador cruise terminal, is a popular destination for cruise ships entering and exiting the Panama Canal. It is located on Flamenco Island, bordering the entry of the Panama Canal on the Pacific side of Panama. Since its opening in 2019, most cruise ships to Panama City dock at Port Fuerte Amador on Flamenco Island. The port is made up of a one-mile causeway extending out from the city center.
CruiseMapper provides free cruise tracking, current ship positions, itinerary schedules, deck plans, cabins, accidents and incidents (cruise minus) reports, and cruise news. However, Fuerte Amador does not offer a large enough pier for cruise ships to dock, so passengers must drop anchor and ferry them to shore with their life boats. Travelers docking at the Fuerte Amador Cruise Port have access to the best of Panama City, from the Panama Canal to historic Casco Viejo.
The port is located on an island south of Panama City and is an important stopover for cruise ships entering and exiting the Panama Canal. The local language spoken is Spanish, and the Amador causeway connects the island to Panama City. Since its opening in 2019, most cruise ships to Panama City dock at Port Fuerte Amador on Flamenco Island.
The port is still under construction, and the bus driver turns off onto an unpaved area and travels to where the ship was docked.
