Cruise ships dock at Ujina Pier, located 2 miles south of the city center and east of the Ujina Ferry Pier. A streetcar stop, Kaigandori, is a 10-minute walk away. Itsukaichi Berth, added in 2014, is typically used by larger ships and shuttles are usually provided to it. The new cruise ship terminal, named Ujina Foreign Trade, is located in an industrial area about 3 km from the city center. The nearest Street Cars station, Kaigan Dori, is about a 15-minute walk away.
Hiroshima Port, located on the Seto Inland Sea, is famous for its beautiful coastlines and islands. The new cruise ship dock is some distance from the city center, and the nearest tram line is a bit of a not-very-scenic hike, so if there are taxis available, take one. Hiroshima was the infamous site of the first atomic bomb explosion of August, 1945. The best reason to visit Hiroshima is the enchanting island of Miyajima with its famous Ujina Foreign Trade Wharf.
The drop-off point is conveniently located near the foot of A-Bomb Dome, and tickets for the return ferry should be purchased at the booking. The Itsukaichi dock is where Millennium is shown as docking on all her cruises to Hiroshima. The port is very efficient for embarking and disembarking for Miyajima, as well as taking the tram back into central Hiroshima.
