Genoa Port, the second-largest seaport in the Mediterranean, is a semicircular enclave of water-dotted days. Cruise ships dock at Stazione Maritima de Genova or the nearby Ponte Andrea Doria near the main train station (Principe). The Italian port is equipped to handle a wide range of cruise ships, from small luxury vessels to large mega-cruisers. The ports offer four purpose-built cruise terminals: Ponte dei Mille and Ponte Andrea Doria, operated by Stazioni Marittime Genova SpA.
The cruise port building is interesting, with an older majestic Stazione Maritima being the home port for MSC cruise ships. Other major cruise lines also dock here. The ports offer four dedicated docks, 340m, 290m, and 2 x 300m in length. The Old Port, close to the cruise terminal where many of today’s cruise ships now dock, is a charming blend of Northern Italy’s seedy waterfront.
Portofino, a short trip away from Genoa, offers colorful facades, boutiques, and surrounding lush hills. Explore the Cinque Terre, Portofino, and more. Genoa Cruise Port is about a 30-minute walk from Piazza De Ferrari, Genoa’s main square. It is often easiest and safest to grab a taxi or shuttle bus from there.
There are two cruise terminals: Ponte dei Mille and Ponte Andrea Doria. Google Maps shows many places marked on Google Maps. The port is divided into three parts: the first, where ships dock in a circular protected harbor, and the second along the coast.
