Palmer Johnson Yachts, founded in 1918 by Hans Johnson and Herman Gmack, is a North-American shipyard located in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The company has a long history of building large custom yachts, including the Lady M superyacht. Originally named Johnson and Gmack, the company built a reputation in the 1920s by repairing rowing skiffs and commercial fishing vessels. In 1961, the company was bought by Texas-based shipyard Palmer Johnson.
The company has since unveiled the first images of its all-carbon 19-meter PJ63 model, named Maveric 1, which was first launched at the Monaco Yacht Showroom in May. Palmer Johnson constructs high-performance superyachts up to 81.4 meters in length. The company was once among major US shipyards, but it has since expanded to include commercial fishing boats, rowing skiffs, and small yachts.
