Where Are Island Packet Yachts Built?

Island Packet Yachts is an American builder of blue water cruising sailing and motor yachts, based in Largo, Florida. Founded by Designer Bob Johnson, the company has created benchmark standards and built over 2,500 yachts. Island Packet Yachts is known for its exclusive design features, proprietary materials, and award-winning models. The company was purchased by Hake Marine in January 2017 and is now focused on building the best boats at a great value.

Located in Pinellas County, Florida, Island Packet Yachts has a nine-acre site with over 11,000 square feet of covered manufacturing. The company’s main project in the first year was to design and build a new 35-foot couples cruising boat, the 349. The company’s production facilities are located on five acres of ground with 52,000 square feet of covered manufacturing.

A Factory Open House will be held on Friday, June 14, to show visitors step-by-step how an Island Packet or Seaward Yacht is built. The company’s goal is not to build boats to a price point but to build the best boat possible at a great value.

I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.
