Where are Trak kayaks made?
The TRAK Team of about 20 in the Philippines has been training and refining the manufacturing process for more than 5 years now. It is always a joy to visit our factory. There’s such a wonderful balance of beaming smiles then intensely concentrated focus. Filipinos love life, that much is clear. But when it comes to working as a team, the traditional principle of Bayanihan runs the show and everybody works together in concert to build a TRAK. That’s pure magic. That’s actually what it takes to create an exceptional product.
A job represents much more than personal career fulfillment or being able to get ahead and be successful.. It represents fundamental security for all members of the family, and it makes a much bigger difference to life when that security is present. Itmakes the difference between food being on the table or a roof being over your head, or not. That relationship to “job security” is not the same in most of North America, where it might make a difference between a one car garage or a two car garage. In simple contrast; for what we spend on one latte, your average Filipino will buy lunch for a week.
Some of them work on the aluminum frame components, some on the skin or maybe quality control and final inspection. The bottom line is that they all have a part of themselves in each and every TRAK that gets shipped to us at TRAK HQ. We’ve worked with them side-by-side and face-to-face to make sure they are supported in producing the very finest product possible. We are like family now.

Why are Hobie kayaks so good?
Hobie Kayaks are top-notch because of their innovative MirageDrive pedal system. This system lets you pedal with your feet, leaving your hands free for fishing. They’re built tough with quality materials and have lots of features that make fishing easier, like built-in rod holders and plenty of storage space. If fishing isn’t necessarily your cup of tea, the extra storage provided is great for avid kayakers who enjoy longer cruises on the water. You can take a bunch of handy supplies with you and store them in your boat!
Stability is key when fishing, and the Hobie Pro Angler series is known for being super stable. These kayaks have a wide hull, which means they’re steady even in rough waters. They also come with features like adjustable seats and non-slip decks, so you can feel secure while you’re out on the water.
Pedaling a Hobie kayak is super easy, thanks to the MirageDrive system. Using your legs to pedal is less tiring than using your arms to paddle, so you can go further without getting as tired. The system is smooth and efficient, and you can adjust it to make pedaling as easy as you want, and you can even throw it in reverse!
Where is Eddyline made?
Eddyline kayaks are built in Burlington, WA, and Queretaro, Mexico.
Eddyline’s Carbonlite material is a high-performance, co-extruded plastic laminate that is proprietary to Eddyline Kayaks. It is first made into a two-layer flat sheet with an ABS substrate for the “muscle” and a hard, abrasion and UV resistant exterior composed primarily of pigmented and clear acrylic.
First, each laminate sheet of Carbonlite is heated until it is pliable. Then using vacuum suction, we form each sheet over a custom mold that shapes the sheet into the deck or hull of a kayak which is then cut and trimmed to size. We use the same process to form and trim the seat bases, seat backs, bulkheads, and coamings of our sit-inside kayaks. The kayak decks are rigged with deck ties, decklines, bungees, hatch rings and coamings. The decks and hulls are fused together with a chemical weld and bulkheads are installed in our sit inside boats. The kayaks get outfitted with their foot braces, soft goods (seat pads and back pads), and hatch covers. A thorough cleaning and quality control inspecition is the last step before each kayak is packaged for delivery. You can see the process in our facility tour video.
