Where Are Cruise Ships Made?

Cruise ships are built in specialized shipyards worldwide, with most located on tidal rivers or the ocean. The world’s mammoth vessels and their smaller brethren all start their lives at these industrial facilities, which are understandably located in port. The main shipyards for cruise vessels are located in Italy, Germany, France, and Finland. Fincantieri is the largest cruise ship builder worldwide, providing vessels.

Cruise ship interiors vary widely in fabric choices, furnishings, and paint colors, but the skeleton of any vessel is similarly constructed. The continuous growth development of the cruise sector and the various types of materials and metals required for assembling the ships make it surprising that there are only four shipyards in operation today with the capability to build cruise ships.

The three countries that produce the largest quantity of cruise ships are Italy, Germany, and South Korea. Cruise ships are mostly built in Finland (Meyer Turku), France (STX), Germany (Meyer Werft), Italy (Fincantieri), and Japan (Mitsubishi). There are four shipyards that can build today’s massive cruise ships: Meyer Werft, Meyer Turku, Chantiers de lAntique, and Fincantieri.

In Europe, the main shipyards for cruise vessels are located in Italy, Germany, France, and Finland. Fincantieri is the largest cruise ship builder worldwide. The construction market for cruise ships is dominated by three European companies and one Japanese company. Cruise ships are primarily built in shipyards in Europe, such as Meyer Werft in Germany or Chantiers de lAtlantique in France.
