What cruise ship is coming to New Orleans?
A new cruise ship will be calling New Orleans home for six months starting in November 2025, the Norwegian Cruise Line announced Wednesday.
The Norwegian Escape will offer seven-day, round-trip vacations throughout the Western Caribbean until April 2026.
The ship also will host two 14-day voyages beginning Feb. 1 and Feb. 22, 2026. The trips will feature new destinations, including Puerto Limón, Costa Rica; Colón, Panama; and Cartagena, Colombia.
The Escape was built in 2015 and renovated in 2022. It can hold more than 4,200 guests. It is the first Breakaway-Plus class ship to make New Orleans its home base, and mimics a small city that offers lots of outdoor activities, restaurants and nighttime entertainment options so a cruiser can tailor their experience.

What’s different about New Orleans?. Did you realize that once a cruise ship departs the Port of New Orleans, it takes about 7-8 hours to travel down the Mississippi River before getting into the Gulf of Mexico and sailing in international waters?
