I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • I do not have to much time off of work in June. I wanted to take my husband on this cruise for his 25th birthday. Since we live in Texas we will be leaving from the Port of Galveston. I want to go to the Bahamas but that’ll be 9days which I do not have so it look like we will have to come here and I’m semi happy because I been to Mexico too many times and El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize and it’s so boring. I wish I had time to go to London on a cruise of the Bahamas. Thank you for showing us what to expect I’m still grateful.

  • The manatee experience are Chakanaab is much less crowded and cheaper than the dolphin one. We tried that last year since we’ve done the dolphin thing before several times. Got almost a full hour in the water with them floating around, feeding them, and only a handful of other people were with us. I found it very fun and interesting and our daughter who was 6 at the time really enjoyed it. As with most similar places they sure are proud of their photo packages they take of you….very expensive!

  • This was a terrific article. I did the Salsa, Salsa Margarita excursion last March and it was a blast! My travel companion did Chichin Itza. It should be mentioned that the bulk of your day will be spent traveling to and from. I hope you will continue to do more of these “things to do in. . .” articles. Now I want to go back and try some of these other places!! lol

  • Sheet. Cozumel is awesome. Those Mexicans speak better English than most Americans. Some do so much English speaking its hard not to believe they aren’t American their accents are so good. Everywhere takes the u.s. dollar. It’s like being in a Texas border town. Just one more thing, don’t kid yourself about those ‘runs’. I’ve been going there for almost 30 years now. Some have appeared in places that there never were any before and in the Zona Arqueologica San Gervasio park I’ve seen piles of rubble mysteriously be built into things the next time I come. There’s still awesome to look at, but take them with a grain of salt.

  • The Jose Cuervo tour is fabulous! Learn how to drink Tequila properly and how many types are really made. You also get to see a short native show, tour a small museum with local art, and make your own very authentic street tacos! You end the tour in the gift shop(of course) where you can buy the tequilas that you learned about earlier. It was a great excursion! Oh, and you drink tequila!

  • I didn’t like anything about Cozumel, especially the harassment of the locals towards us single women is very scary. As you walk down the streets these men grab on you like it’s OK trying to pull you into their store. They try to get you by offering you free tastes of their liquor. It was so bad it caused my adult daughters and I to go back to the ship because I was so afraid of sex trafficking. No one ever wants to address that part of Cozumel.

  • hey Matt! Very well put together blog it’s much appreciated! Definetly I just vacationed there and watched this article before i went.
