Is a 25 Litre bag big?
A 25 liter backpack typically measures around 18-20 inches in height, 10-12 inches in width, and 6-8 inches in depth. However, the exact dimensions may vary depending on the brand and design of the backpack. A 25 liter backpack is considered a medium-sized backpack and is suitable for day trips, commuting, or light hiking. It can hold essentials such as a water bottle, snacks, a jacket, and a small camera. It is important to note that the capacity of a backpack is not solely determined by its liter size, but also by its design and organization features.
1、 Capacity. Capacity. A 25 liter backpack is considered a medium-sized backpack, suitable for day trips or short hikes. It can hold enough gear for a day trip, including a water bottle, snacks, a camera, and a light jacket. The dimensions of a 25 liter backpack can vary depending on the brand and style, but generally, it measures around 18 inches in height, 12 inches in width, and 8 inches in depth.

It’s important to consider the weight of the backpack itself and the weight of the gear you plan to carry before choosing a backpack.

Are dry bags 100% waterproof?
The hydrostatic head of a dry bag fabric is only one factor to consider when thinking about keeping things dry. Most dry bags use a roll-top closure – it’s important to understand that this closure will only support a relatively modest amount of water pressure. With any brand of dry bag, water may begin to seep through the closure if it is under water even at a shallow depth or for a significant period – this often depends on how well the roll-top closure was sealed.
This is the reason why Sea to Summit puts advisories on its dry bags and dry sacks explaining that they are not suitable for submersion use, and why ‘double bagging’ of sensitive or electronic devices is essential.
(There are circumstances where a hard case with an O-Ring seal is a more appropriate for storing sensitive gear in very wet or very cold conditions. Sea to Summit doesn’t make hard cases, but being a relentless ally to our end-users means that we recommend these cases in applications where they will perform better than a roll-top dry bag)

Are dry bags worth it?
Conclusion. No matter what kind of adventures you’re planning, it’s critical to have the right gear to keep your items safe and dry. While dry bags can provide excellent protection against accidental moisture or high humidity, waterproof bags are your best bet for keeping your items safe when you’re in or around water. With both dry bags and waterproof bags offering unique advantages, the ultimate decision of which bag to choose is up to you. Be sure to carefully weigh the pros and cons of each, and invest in the bag that fits your needs.
How big should your dry bag be?
Most Useful Dry Bag Sizes. Dry bags come in different sizes usually ranging from small 2 liter bags to huge 50, 60 or even 90 liter bags. In my experience the most useful bag sizes are between 5 and 50 liters. Bigger bags are very useful when you need to haul huge amounts of gear, but bags this big will be heavy and clumsy when they are full. Use these bags for transport etc… when the gear just sits inside a huge dry bag on the back of the pickup truck or similar. Not for carrying around. It is also easier to handle and pack two 30L bags than one 60L.
Gear Organization. Another downside of huge bags is that things get lost inside them. Use huge bags for big gear. Like, if you need to throw 4 wet wetsuits inside your car, you can put them inside one huge 90L bag. But when packing clothes, towels, snacks… smaller bags work better. With a huge bag you will be constantly fishing inside the bag for some small item that always miraculously ends up somewhere at the bottom of the bag. So think about how many things you need to store inside your bag and consider using more differently sized bags instead of one huge bag. Finding things will be much easier.
Small dry bags allow you to keep your items organized. If I carry multiple same sized bags I mark them on the outside so I know which on to open.
What can fit in a 5L dry bag?
My go-to for simple, stowable, safe organization, these dry bags, much like Marry Poppin’s bag, are seemingly bottomless. On a long weekend camping in the White Mountains, I used the Ultra-Sil Dry Bags to separate camp clothes from trail wear. In the five-liter, I fit socks, underwear, pants, a tank top, longsleeve, lightweight hoody and hat. My waterproof anorak, biking and running clothes went in the eight-liter. With the excess air forced out, the sides of these bags’ openings simply close and seal. Then rolled down and buckled shut, they stuff minimally into a duffel or backpack, eliminating wasted space from any clothing sprawl. The transparent Ultra-Sil 30-denier Cordura nylon (ultralight and abrasion resistant fabric) makes it easy to check the contents of each bag before opening them—diminishing the amount of unpacking/repacking in search of a pair of socks. Although not meant to be submerged, should the weather permeate your pack, a PFC-free DWR wash and taped seams repel water, keeping gear safe and dry.
Sea to Summit eVac Compression Dry Bag UL. $40-60 | Sizes: 3L, 5L, 8L, 13L, 20L.
Pulling out the down pants, thick socks and fluffy puffies for a winter hut trip? The eVac Compression Dry Bag will protect your insulation and pack it down. Like the Ultra-Sil Dry Bag, the eVac is abrasion resistant, lightweight and water repellent thanks to a body made from Ultra-Sil 30-denier Cordura nylon with PFC-free DWR coating. It also features a sealable, rolldown top. But it’s the base which sets the eVac apart. Made from waterproof yet air-permeable eVent fabric and connected, via compression straps, to a nylon cap, this dry bag has an added capacity to compress its contents. As someone who runs cold and loves her layers, this stuff sack enables me to bring insulation into the backcountry that I’ve opted to leave at home in the past. Though not always necessary when space optimization isn’t a top priority, when pack volume is limited, the eVac stuff sacks save significant space. Plus, they can keep cozy down items dry—though they are not intended to be directly exposed to the weather.
How big is a dry bag for canoe camping?
Dry bags, like rucksacks, are sold in litres rather than sizes. For kayaking, we’d recommend taking two 20 litre dry bags. Having two smaller bags will make them easier to fit inside or on top of your kayak. But that does mean you’ll have to pack lightweight. Which is probably better for everyone in the long run – after all the heavier you load your kayak, the harder it’ll be to paddle.
For hiking, you just want dry bags that will fit inside your rucksack. If you’re using it as a liner, then get one at least 10 litres bigger than the advertised volume of your rucksack. If you’d like to use dry bags for gear organisation as well as waterproofness, then get a selection of smaller ones. You can often buy multi-packs in several sizes and colours.
