What Is The Biggest Yacht Ever Made?

The world’s largest yacht, the Azzam, is a 180.61m private superyacht built by German shipyard Lürssen Yachts in 2013. It was launched on 5 April 2013 and is one of the largest privately-owned superyachts in the world. The Azzam, originally designed for Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, is expected to become the world’s largest superyacht, measuring an impressive 222m (728ft) in length.

The 2016 launch of Dilbar gave Lürssen the distinction of not only building the longest yacht ever. The Azzam, originally designed to be a luxury vessel, has been one of the largest privately-owned superyachts since 2013. Its overall length (LOA) is the maximum length of the vessel measured between extreme points in fore and aft. The ship’s deadweight tonnage (DWT) is also considered.

Fincantieri has announced the successful delivery of Project Victory, a 140-meter superyacht. The 8-decked Octopus, originally built by Lürssen for Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, is the world’s largest expedition yacht. The 384-foot ‘Infinity, the Largest Superyacht Ever Built in the Netherlands, could be a record summer for Dutch shipyard Oceanco.

In addition to the Azzam, other world-class motor yachts include Eclipse (533 ft), Fulk Al Salamah (538 ft), Azzam (597 ft), and REV Ocean (600 ft).
