What Does Dry Top Snorkel Mean?

A dry snorkel is a unique type of snorkel designed to prevent water from entering the breathing tube when submerged. It is the only snorkel specifically designed to keep water out of the breathing tube, making it ideal for beginners and those who want a seamless experience while watching marine life.

A dry snorkel has a special part on the top of the tube that prevents water from entering the tube when a wave comes over the snorkelers. This valve mechanism, called a float valve, seals out water and air, keeping the inner tube dry. Dry snorkels are ideal for novices and people who want a seamless experience while watching marine life.

The basic dry snorkel consists of three parts: a mouthpiece, the breathing tube, and a dry valve (one-way valve) at the top of the breathing tube. When the top of the snorkel is submerged underwater, the hinge reacts and closes on top of the tube, sealing it so water cannot get in. This can lead to mask leaks, which can be annoying.

The Dry Top Finis is an evolution in snorkels, with a combination of flotation device and valve mechanism making it work more smoothly when swimming. The float valve effectively seals out water, keeping the inner tube dry.

In summary, a dry snorkel is a unique type of snorkel designed to prevent water from entering the breathing tube when submerged. It features a specialized valve mechanism called a float valve, which seals out water and air, allowing for effortless breathing and a seamless experience while exploring marine life.

I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

I’d gladly provide it a loving home…never hurts to ask, right? But seriously thanks for the articles any SCUBA content is gladly appreciated. Safe Diving
