Jacob Dryden, a 19-year-old skydiver, died after nearly drowning on June 27, 2021, after getting stuck between two rocks after jumping into a river. He was in a semi-conscious state with severe brain damage. The Drydens, who were with his mother and stepfather, reported that Jacob had been in the hospital for 308 days.
Jacob’s mother, Elliot, wrote a note to Kat and Alice, who both knew they needed them. Del and Elliot wanted it to happen, and Jacob’s mother, Dawn Williams, used their Jamaican tour guide for all of their trip’s adventures. Jacob was supposed to enter basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia on Monday, but he was unable to understand the Jamaican tour guide.
Jacob is currently in his third day off his ventilator, turning his head from side-to-side and opening and closing his mouth. He underwent surgery for his wounds to be cleaned, and he will now be wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. Jacob stated he didn’t want to hear the Jamaican tour guide’s explanation for his death.
Jacob remains on a ventilator, suffering moderate brain damage. Several EEG’s have determined that there is brain damage. Paramedics found him underwater for almost 10 minutes, and paramedics revived him and took him to the hospital where he is in critical condition.
