How do I promote tourism in my city?

Promoting a town involves creating radio and television ads, creating a tourist map, and utilizing social media and other promotional materials to attract new visitors. In the digital age, it is easier to get tourists to pay attention to a specific place. A marketing plan and using social media can help promote tourism in a town or city.

One way to do this is to create a list of all available activities and attractions in the town. Tourists are more interested in the activities they can do and see in the town than the location itself. Focusing on specific activities or attractions, such as the world’s largest paper clip or a man-made wave in a river, can attract visitors.

Working with a tourism planning committee and narrowing your focus on the top three things your town has to offer can increase the likelihood of your town being of interest to tourists. Being specific and specific about what makes your town worth a special trip can help attract more visitors.

Industry Areas in the Industries DLC can be leveled up as resources and jobs are produced, with each level unlocking new buildings, increasing production rates by 4, and lowering pollution rates by 10. These buildings can be used in the same city, but most require to be within an Industry Area. The buildings come in five types: extractors, processors, factory, auxiliary, and warehouses. Extractors create raw products, which are then processed into “Special Goods” (two for each Industry type).

Auxiliary buildings increase the efficiency of extractors and processors. Factories use Special Goods to create “Luxury Goods” that can be exported or sent to commercial zones. Warehouses store materials for shipping to other buildings and don’t need to be placed in a specialized zone. There are raw product storage areas specific to each specialization and general warehouses that can also hold processed materials.

  • I’m quite sad about the After Dark DLC and the addition of Tourism. At first I thought it was going to be like Simcity 5 (yeah the shitty game but it had its pluses) where the tourists would stay in hotels over a period of time as they hopped between destinations. Zonable/growable casinos were also a huge deal. Casinos and hotels growing to the highest wealth/density level was super satisfying and were a huge source of income when they were most active at night. Sadly in CSL they just statically occupy random buildings exactly the way your resident cims do. The hotels don’t even function as places where they stay, they’re technically identical to shops and nightclubs. And of course, there’s no functioning growable casino.
