Protected Travel Services: What Are They?

UK travel businesses are joining Protected Trust Services (PTS) to ensure complete financial protection for their clients. PTS offers a travel trust account system, which allows clients to know exactly where their money is. This system is one of the main three forms of financial protection approved by the Package Travel Regulations (PTRs), ensuring that clients and stakeholders’ funds are protected.

PTS helps both new and established travel businesses in the UK succeed by providing robust financial protection and the necessary ATOL scheme. Trip protection is a limited type of cancellation coverage that is purchased directly from a travel provider and is typically self-insured by the travel provider. PTS is the only financial protection in the UK to offer such high levels of protection to both the travel business and the traveller.

When booking with a PTS member, travelers receive the UK’s best financial protection for their holiday, ensuring peace of mind for both travelers and travel businesses. Members of PTS provide some of the best protection in the UK through Package Travel Regulations compliance, the ATOL scheme, and the PTS trust account.

PTS also offers advice on setting up a business, legal requirements to sell travel in the UK, card acquirement, and a database of over 200 suppliers for travel businesses.

What is PTS used for?

The presentation timestamp (PTS) is a metadata field in MPEG transport or program streams used to synchronize separate elementary streams, such as Video, Audio, and Subtitles, when presented to the viewer. It is given in units related to a program’s overall clock reference, either Program Clock Reference (PCR) or System Clock Reference (SCR), which is also transmitted in the transport stream or program stream. PTSs have a resolution of 90kHz, suitable for presentation synchronization, while PCR or SCR have a resolution of 27MHz for synchronizing a decoder’s overall clock with the remote encoder.

Decoding of N elementary streams is synchronized by adjusting the decoding of streams to a common master time base, which may be one of the N decoders’ clocks, the data source’s clock, or an external clock.

What is PTS membership?

The pts membership command serves to enumerate the groups to which each user or machine belongs, or alternatively, to list the users and machines that belong to each group specified by the -nameorid argument. It is not feasible to enumerate the constituents of the system:anyuser or system:authuser groups. In order to add users or machines to groups, the pts adduser command should be utilized. Conversely, the pts removeuser command can be employed for the purpose of removing said users or machines from their respective groups.
