I’m from LA . I love my city but honestly if you come to visit, you will be upset to find the real LA . Lots of homeless, dirty streets, traffic, expensive and so spread to get from point A to point B. Wanna take Uber ? Sure, you’ll pay a lot . Wanna take the subway ? Sure, you will ride with a lot of homeless. Wanna drive ? Sure, you’ll get stuck in traffic . Specially on weekends.
Los Angeles has a vibe like no other. I have only been there as a tourist one time. I can’t explaine it. Aaaa..It is so different from Miami. Every area in America had its own cultural footprint except Miami and LA. Tourist melting pots. What I like about LA is that you get the feeling that it is a home. Ft Lauderdale- Miami is a destination. You go to miami and you leave miami.

La Plazita Olvera is filled with homeless people surrounding the church and on around the plaza area. It is right next to Union Station which is the hub for all homeless people. With that being said, i would not visit some of the places you mentioned on here. I mean sure go ahead. But just be ready for a surprise in what you will encounter. Also, i live in LA.
What is not shown on this article is all the homeless people that have invaded the area. Stayed in Santa Monica last week and it really makes me not want to go back. We traveled from San Francisco to Santa Monica (LA) and both cities would have been more enjoyable without all the homeless people invading the area. You did not feel safe and there were few people on the streets after 9 because it wasn’t considered safe. I have seen a lot of articles of California prior to my trip and I feel like I was deceived by them, very upset that I spent a good amount of money on my trip to be disappointed by the two areas that are shown to be so glamorous on the internet. My recommendation would be to wait until they have the homeless situation sorted out before visiting San Francisco, LA, Santa Monica.

PLEASE stop those fake ads, and spare thousands of Eurooean kids the pain. The REAL LA is so full of homeless camps, and dangerously insane and violent people.. if I had known, I wouldn’t have traveled alone. Yes, LA also has a weird vibe, I kind of miss it also, because I have friends there. But it was a very traumatizing experience overall.
