📹 My First Airline Ticket Scam Experience…
Exposing an airline ticket scam (I’ve been defrauded) ⇢ Travel insurance i personally use & highly recommend : Heymondo – the …
Only when it happens to you, it’s when you come here to learn about. I got an airline ticket through MyTrip only to have the flight canceled by the airlline in which case I was entitled to a full refund as per the airline policy. However, MyTrip disregarded this policy and charged me instead penalties fee and reimbursed the differences months later. My recomendations is to ALWAYS buy an airline ticket directly from the airline but book hotels through agencies because you don’t need to pay upfront and you have from 24-48 hours to cancel the reservation.
Yes. I totally agree with u on smart fares. Or SKYSCANNER! Total bs. Booked my shit last time for a round trip (Chicago-Bangkok) 6 wks in advance. 2 wks later called them for the airline comf # instead of their comf #. Kept telling me some bs how they’re still waiting for the Airline to send it to them. Called them every wk as the trip got nearer. They kept giving me the same excuse then goes and tell me the prices went up so I have to pay more now. Told them “fck y’all give me my refund back.” In the end had to rebook a last min flight out for $2,300 through United smh*
My family just bought 3 tickets from Best Airfares when they told me I told them they might have been scammed. First low prices. Yes, it was $1300+ for a trip of 3 people there and back on American Airlines. It just didn’t seem realistic. Second, confirmation codes. if you have ever booked a flight, you know there are no numbers in those codes, plus they were always different numbers. And Third, my family made a mistake on the address, so I called their customer service. It sounded exactly like those scam call centers on those YouTube articles. Indian voice, people in the background, and just obnoxious waiting times. There and then, I told them that I wanted to cancel the trip, and they just chuckled. I hung up the phone and told my mother we should probably cancel her credit card. We are going to do that tomorrow. It’s around seven, everything is closed.
