Is The Cape Coral Yacht Club Pool Open?

The Cape Coral Yacht Club, located on the Caloosahatchee River, has been severely damaged by Hurricane Ian, resulting in the demolition of all facilities, including the Yacht Club Community Pool. The club, which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, swimming pool, ballroom, and riverside beach, has become a popular attraction. The new complex will feature an island ambiance anchored by a two-story community center, resort-style pool, and related amenities.

The Cape Coral Yacht Club Beach reopened on November 11, 2023, allowing both locals and tourists to enjoy all that the Yacht Club has to offer. The pool is still in place, but it will be removed from all office buildings and the kiddie pool as well. The Olympic-sized heated pool is open daily from March to October from 10AM-5PM, and there is a kiddy pool with a dewdrop fountain and underwater area.

The Yacht Club Community Park Beach is now open with limited amenities, including the pool and Harbormasters building. People at a Wednesday meeting expressed concerns about the closure of what is currently open during construction. Cape Coral Mayor John Gunter hopes to have the Yacht Club beach reopened at summer’s end. Parking is somewhat limited, but if you circle the lots, generally you can find someone leaving.

My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • I can’t make a lot out from the maps – Please add a “large” PDF. At Yacht Club beach there is / was a grassy area to the right just before the final curb taking you to the Yacht Club . Is it shown on new maps? It was overflow parking. Could it be used for Pickle ball or art ? I wish they would allow art sales on a Wednesday for 2 or 3 hours again . That drew tourist and residents there. It certainly was of interest (I’m a resident of Cape Coral) to me. I would sell 8 by 10 photos of the Yacht Club, the lighthouse on Sanibel, the Times Square Pier, etc. I think space could be provided in the overflow parking spot just off the road entrance area or on the beach itself — just on the sand near the restrooms (as was done before) . Some very artistic vendors would sell, jewelry, unique murals “painted on real coconuts”, poster paintings, and (in my case) photos of southwest Florida most cherished spots. This was a good thing . The instantly obtainable vendor permits were reasonably priced at the time –about 25 dollars to obtain one not 200 or 300 dollar. I lived elsewhere a while so not sure when the art sales stopped . How pleasant it is to a tourist – buy art, walk the beach and see the water, then go eat – all at the same spot.
