Is Norwegian Cruise Line canceling dozens of cruises throughout 2025?

Norwegian Cruise Line announced it is canceling more than a dozen cruises that were scheduled for 2025.

The recent cancelations are a result of “varied events including the ongoing situation in the Red Sea and Israel,” the company told FOX TV Stations in an emailed statement on Thursday.

Additionally, modified dry dock schedules for ship enhancements, a full ship charter, and a demand for shorter close-to-home voyages to the Bahamas, have impacted the decision to cancel several voyages.

“We are committed to providing exceptional vacation experiences, both aboard our ships and by taking our guests to some of the most sought-out destinations around the world. While we try to maintain original itineraries as much as possible, at times modifications are made to optimize the itinerary, enhance the guest experience or accommodate certain circumstances,” a company spokesperson said.

What city do cruises leave from in Florida?

1. Choose the Right Port. If you’re cruising from Florida, you have five ports from which to choose. Four Miami, Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Port Canaveral and Jacksonville are situated along the state’s Atlantic coast. The fifth, Tampa, is on the state’s Gulf coast. The departure ports of Miami and Fort Lauderdale are the most active of the ports, with several cruise ships departing or returning in a single week. In addition to being a homeport, Port Canaveral, located one hour from Orlando, is also a port of call on cruises that depart from other areas of the United States. When choosing your port, consider how easy it will be for you to get there. Can you drive? Is there a direct flight? Different lines also sail from different ports, which will play into your decision.

2. Revel in the Cruise Line and Itinerary Choices. Because there are so many homeports and because Florida is convenient to the Bahamas and Caribbean, more cruise lines sail from the state than any other place in the world. While not all cruise lines keep ships in Florida year-round, on any given date you’re likely to find sailings from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney, MSC Cruises, Princess, Celebrity and Holland America in at least one of the five ports. That’s not including seasonal sailings from Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Crystal, Cunard and Azamara Cruises. Additionally, Florida is the jumping-off point for more itineraries than any other port in North America. Besides Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean and Southern Caribbean sailings, you’ll find journeys to the Panama Canal and South America, as well as repositioning cruises to Europe.

What is the scandal with Norwegian Cruise Lines?

Eight people have accused Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) of abandoning them on a tiny island in Africa after a private tour ran late and the group missed the embarkation cut-off time.

Four of the group are elderly and another is pregnant, and though the ship was still at anchor, they were denied boarding.

The ship, the Norwegian Dawn, set sail without them— and it was right to do so.

Once, I was late to check in for a flight. I jumped out of the taxi, sprinted to the counter (which is no mean feat when you’re hauling luggage) and arrived at the desk sweating bullets, prepared to get on my knees and grovel if it meant I’d be allowed through.
